Great video but totally inept fire extinguishing skills in many cases. Don't they get even BASIC training? And the ones that looked like they were an official fire department, in uniforms, were every bit as bad which is more than a little worrying.

I know this is probably obvious & just an observation, but, blowing on, swatting with a rag, etc doesn’t put out an alcohol fire, an extinguisher does…. & what gets me is they never seem to have one !!

It's unbelievable that the announcer has to call for the fire department to respond in most of these fires. Then when they do show up, they don't have the correct extinguishers... What's up with that. ?

I think the announcer hollering for personnel is a knee jerk situation for them and its a good reaction. Most clubs have extinguishers trackside. I can't answer why they aren't faster in some situations. But mostly these days the response is pretty quick

In your expert opinion,do you ever see the day when on the engine an extinguisher could be placed and controlled by the driver or maybe one placed above the driver to protect him or her from flames ? @@Frank-o2e1s yes fire suppression systems. Some pullers have them. Great investment but its not cheap
