Please drop more videos of the tuning process. I’m at the same stage with my build.

Sadly I just found out my truck needs a timing chain and guides so it'll be a few more weeks but once I get the new chain in I'm going to install the trigger disk

About 7500 is when they spin bearings no matter what mines revved 7 fell out of 3rd after putting a very low mile rebuilt motor in it

seven is usually the max of where I bring it currently, I lost my rev limiter for some reason, so I just have to be very visual when sending it

It wouldn't work at a 96??
@JapaneseMinitruck10 ай бұрын
I'm honestly not too, too sure if it would work for the newer style hardbodies, you may have to ask in some forums to see what it would take to!

How did you get a factory tach? I have a 91 2.4 5-speed and was told a factory tach couldn't be used on this set up. Is it the external wire running to the base of the distributor? Is your guage cluster from a different model year? Thanks for posting this video! Awesome work!
@JapaneseMinitruck Жыл бұрын
so it's very possible, all the times I found one that fit it was truthfully by luck, but I would look at some parts trucks in local junkyards if possible and see what connections your gauge cluster currently take and if you find a Nissan D21 with the same connections, and then you can just plug it in and your tach should work! No extra wiring needed, it was all plug-and-play! But some square Dash tachometer clusters are a little different, and have different connections, I don't know if those can be modified to work I don't believe so.

Might be a dumb question, but is it not a problem that your AFR is only reading one cylinder? Assuming that’s what’s hooked up in that header pipe. Maybe it’s not idk. Lol Great videos tho!!!
@JapaneseMinitruck Жыл бұрын
no, my AFR gauge is after the collection pipe about 2 feet down the exhaust, so it reads the rating of all four cylinders! The O2 sensor is reading off of one cylinder for the trucks ECU!
@ricoreelsfishing6504 Жыл бұрын
@@JapaneseMinitruck ahhhh ok cool! That’s what I get for assuming lol. I wasn’t sure if you were still running an o2 sensor. I have the same headers and afr gauge in my hardbody just without o2.
@JapaneseMinitruck Жыл бұрын
@ricoreelsfishing6504 it is a pain to get the bing welded for the AFR gauge but it should last a little longer, they recommend a foot or so down the pipe usually, but on hood dump turbo cars you don't get too much of a choice hahaha

What year is your truck found a mega squirt but I says only fits a 95 and I’ve got a 90 wanted to do about the same as you
@JapaneseMinitruck Жыл бұрын
no, you will want the 89 to 94 ECU,

Honest feedback bro bro. What’s your opinion on the new ECU? Have you had any luck tuning it? Or found anyone who will help? I wanna go the same route as you, but don’t wanna waste my money if it’s junk with no support
@JapaneseMinitruck11 ай бұрын
unfortunately, I swapped back over to my stock ECU for now, tuning it personally is definitely not the move, I had someone giving me a hand, but unfortunately they were a little sick and have a full-time business to run so I didn't wanna bother them and swapped back to stock ECU to cruise for the summer, It will end up coming back eventually, but just need to have it done by another pro when it's necessary, but even then you can turbo a hardbody on stock ECU!
