I used to own this game on my SEGA Genesis and played the hell out of it. It was one of the first games I ever played to completion when I was younger, and I NEVER got tired of replaying it over and over. I don't own it anymore, unfortunately. I stupidly left all my SEGA stuff behind when I moved, but this theme song gets into my head on a near-daily basis. I love this game so much, and it made a legitimate impact on my life. I'm glad the actual INTRO was uploaded and not just the song, because I love the parts where the suit powers up, and when you can hear the "EMERGENCY" and shooting in the background.

This intro is full of flashy wording and rephrasing that can't be taken in a literal sense. It says "Eons have passed since mankind last heard of the evil Machine" and "But now, after many generations enjoyed freedom and peace in the galaxy, the dark forces assemble again". This leads you to believe this is taking place centuries after the last time The Machine was seen, which you may believe at first, but then you realize that this is a sequel to Turrican II and the main character is the same man who defeated him back then, Bren McGuire, so either he is some kind of inmortal or never aging supernatural being, or this is simply full of misconceptions. The instruction manual seems to indicate the latter, because it corrects the "Eons have passed since..." bit with a much more clear and logical "Time has passed since mankind last heard of the Machine. Bren McGuire is on a United Planets Freedom Forces mission when suddenly he sees his worst nightmares come true again. Years ago, he was the only survivor of the starship Avalon 1 when the Machine took out his comrades in an attempt to take over the galaxy..." text that goes on in a similar but different way to the clumsy written intro. The fact that this game was developed in Germany, by people whose first language isn't English, may be a big indication of what happened here, and why it was corrected (probably by the publisher) in the instruction manual.

My first thoughts: "I thought it's a western game, why sudden Anime style"? Then i see the protagonist "Ah, makes sense, it's Anime-sque style." I love this 90's Animesque aesthetic, 90's western take on Anime style is very nostalgic to me ^^

Solar Flare [Who now uploads SSBU replays] I think Bren's moveset could be: Y: shoot a small laser shot. B: Punch A: Opponent-grab (when he grabs the opponents he can headbutt them for 3% damage) Hold B: Flaming Punch (the one from Super Turrican's cover) A with < or >: grappling hook (but instead of grabbing ledges and platforms. He grabs opponents. And drags them toward him for a punch.) Up and A: uppercut Down and A: charge towards the opponent with a headbutt. Up and B: 3-second freezer beam. Down and B: football-Kick to the face. Taunts: Up: Flipping the Turrican gun. Cowboy-style. Both sides: shouting: "Revenge!" Down: taking the Turrican helmet off and wiping the sweat off. Final Smash: grabbing his opponent and flying to outer space with Turrican Suit's jetpack and flying to the planet and SMASHING the opponent. And his victory animation is him taking the Turrican helmet off and smiling while pointing the gun to the air in the same pose in Turrican II's intro where he yelled "Revenge!". What do you think of this?

Im guessing the japanese console was modded, because the game was region locked but what version of the game was it pal or ntsc?

It's the NTSC-U version, because of the Data East introductory logo. The PAL version features a Sony Electronic Publishing static logo instead, together with an updated copyright reference indicating that Sony Electronic Publishing licensed the European release from Data East USA.
