dont get me wrong.. this chair seems well put together, and the consolidation of all the modules is pretty slick! i just hope that the software side of things continues to improve, and we all get access to the programming tools soon!

I hope in 4 years when I get my new chair they have a way to change the programing!

This f5 has ripped up long and fairly steep hill s all summer at top speed often. One clutch cover got lost and a replacement is set for jan sixth. So far, at 600 miles this is the best chair ever!

Thanks for the inside view on PowerPlatform, Dan! . Looks like Permobil's integrated more functions, and cleaned up a lot of wiring. More elegant in my opinion. I'll be taking delivery of my M3 on the morning of December 31 (New Year's Eve).

I've had rollback on my van ramp when I realize my seats to high and I'm going to hit my head. Roles back noticeably a foot or so. My m3 2 years old. Merry Xmas.

I imagine it is like a GAN charger, smaller more robust parts, and cooler operation.

I currently own a 2024 Permobil F5 Corpus VS with Power Platform Technology, which I have had for almost a year. I have used it for many adaptive hiking trips, covering distances of 10 to 12 miles on both flat terrain and hilly trails. I have never experienced any overheating issues with the chair; it is truly an amazing piece of equipment. Additionally, I have received numerous firmware updates remotely. The only requirement is to restart the chair, and it will notify you when a firmware update has been applied.

awesome! i guess they figured out the thermal management - been hearing from a number of people they have no overheating issues!

Always appreciate these teardowns. One thing I don't understand is why they got rid of the ability to recalibrate the seating functions. Not long getting my F3 PP, I had to have a rep/tech come out to recalibrate mine when the tilt actuator malfunctioned and got stuck (couldn't tilt back or elevate). But hopefully user access gets opened up soon in thru a future update.

I have had the new design since April with numerous firmware and software updates. Tail wiggle was so bad at first. No issues of overheating.

I really enjoyed this video from its technical perspective. But I'm a little bit out of the loop. Why does this chair has a GPS module and a 4G connection?
