Despite the glaring flaws with the episode concerning the canon of the series, the action scenes are absolutely amazing. By far the best action scenes of the entire show. I just love how intense the explosions are with each energy blast. It really shows just how much more powerful X, Vile and Spark Mandrill are in comparison to Megaman and the Robot Masters.

One of the issues I had with this show was its obsession with the word "bot." "Maverick-bot." Also, the blatant disregard of canon and X looking like he's 25. Otherwise, glad this episode exists. Also, "Cigma."

@@teddybeer6206 X1 yes but the thing about deep personalities and backgrounds, with X being actually the most hesitant when it comes to pulling the trigger, Reploids having no "prime program" as Vile refers to here but make their own choices (meaning Vile went Maverick intentionally without any program forcing him to) hasn't been discussed a lot before X4 and its cutscenes (which came out after this episode went live) and later on so in regards to that, the show did fine imo.

Vile was so badass in this episode, it really is a shame that this sow didn't last longer. I would have liked for him to return in a later episode to do something like eliminate Dr Light to prevent the creation of Megaman X in the future, and this time we might actually have Sigma appear in person.

@TheSecretEye I love Vile's voice here. Ruby Spears' truly did Vile great justice. Capcom really should have added a filter on Vile's voice for X8 though. It would have made it sound very similar and much more believable seeing is how Vile speaks through his narrow helmet. Not to mention its just plain cool and suits him anyway. ;)

what I realy dont understand about the plot of this series, is how Dr. Light is so gifted in creating a super robot like Megaman that possess power to defeat many of wily's inventions, yet Dr. Light for some reason decides not to make multiple copies of the original Megaman based on his original blueprints. It makes me think that Dr.lights invention of megaman being such an adept combat robot was a fluke compared to his other inventions.

A shame that this was the last ever episode of the Mega Man cartoon series. Oh, baby, would the mavericks from Mega Man X, Vile, and Sigma have made for an excellent follow-up season. I wonder what the animated versions of the other maverick bots (Launch Octopus, Chill Penguin, Flame Mammoth, Boomer Kuwanger, Sting Chameleon, Armored Armadillo, and Storm Eagle) have looked like, sounded like, and fared against Mega Man X, Dr. Light, and the others.

Seeing how violent X seems to be in this and considering that this was supposed to be a pilot for a MMX show, it's safe to assume that there wouldn't be much of a show with this version of X. Sigma and Vile would be ducking under their desk as he blows the place up only for X to drop a nuke on them.

Actually, certain episodes from this show had way better animation than this. This is average at beast. It's not bad, but uninspired compared to the quality from The Beginning, and Brain Bot. But it is much better than the crappy quality that was Curse of the Lion Men.

@Volcanoran3 you are correct in that X and Zero are both Maverick Hunters, and that the Robot Masters are Wily's work. However, Zero was Wily's last creation. There were no mavericks in Wily's or Dr. Light's time, so therefore Zero is also a Robot Master. As for X, since he was Dr. Light's last robot I dunno if he is considered a Robot Master. What we do know is that they both consider themselves reploids.

@Niko1Linni I'm guessing the cartoon takes place during the first X game, because Spark Mandrill and Vile are running around. It's not that X was a non-combatant, it's just that as a character he would be careful not to cause major collateral damage. He had ethics testing that ran for over a hundred years. He had a big heart, and the power to back it up. The version depicted here just has a big gun, and a mission to blame everything on.
