Ice man was probably made as ether a Fire Suppression robot, since he can freeze anything, or an arctic Rescue robot since obviously cold temperatures wouldn't bother him, and his freezing ability would probably help stop avalanches, and cross crevasses, but obviously I'm guessing XD and am most likely wrong. Probably went something like Megaman or Roll "why did you build a robot that could freeze anything?" Dr.Light "Cause I thought it would be cool"

All of them have music themed names. Proto Man's Japanese name is Blues, Bass and Treble are types of notes and their Japanese names are Forte (another type of note) and Gospel (a music genre). Plus the bird is Beat. I don't know but I think Rush was named after the band.

Actually it wasn't Capcom but the creator of Megaman in the first place. He's originally known as Rockman and the creator of him loved rock n' roll. Also another reason why Megaman games have awesome music all the time
