I'm gonna spew some (hopefully valid) criticism to Mega64. I've been listening to Mega64 since 2016, as a non native English speaker and live in a third world country, Mega64 podcast became a good learning English listening experience for me, and I love that their topics are not laser focused about video games. They become my gateway knowledge to America culture. But as I joined their Patreon, their patreon exclusive videos views and comments are so barren. If there's any comment, the Mega64 boys will never reply to them, ever, period. The lack of engagement to their audiences outside the offline meet up is so baffling. If there's one, they usually discuss the trolls or the extreme negative comments. And the patrons not really watching the exclusive video because they most likely want the monthly merchandise. What I think the severely lacks from Mega64 is two way communication. The recent patron question that's being answered on the podcast is a very good beginning to a better engagement. And Derrick giving an update that he will join the next podcast is an example of good communication, and that's not a hard thing to do. I won't open a can of worms where Derrick was missing without a good update what he's been doing. Your fans care about you and when their fav person goes missing, it's understandable for them to ask around, and to shunned them is a big mistake. In the end, I hope Mega64 can stay true in their niche products, the loyal fans will stay loyal and supportive, more new fans will come, and there will be no financial problems in the future.

Garrett you can also look into the wider or older traditions of Halloween, Samhuinn and Catholic traditions for All Saints and All Souls in different countries. There's a lot there that is the same as Day of the Dead, leaving offerings for ancestors, setting a place at the table for family or good spirits, leaving a candle in a window to guide family spirits home...etc. Guy Fawkes/Bonfire Night celebrations on November 5th saw Protestants modifying pre-existing bonfire traditions for their own event. It's easy to make Halloween a week long thing just based on existing celebrations. Sometimes even longer depending on when Diwali's 5-day of celebrations are because it's based on their lunisolar calendar so moves dates each year.
