Rust In Piece is just on the whole another level. I remember 5 years ago, when I just started listening to Megadeth this was my first year at the university, some good memories float from my mind. The first album I fell in love with was actually Peace Sells, but when I heared Rust In Piece it absolutely blew my mind. It's just on the whole another level. Even though I am a bassist, I've been practising Tornado Of Souls main guitar riff lately. For a few years I've been trying to learn it when I was playing acoustic guitar for a brief period of time, but I was never successfull. That was until lately I finally managed to play this killer riff on the freaking bass guitar! That was just absolutely awesome! Dave I love the whole album, each song is a masterpiece, each time I listen to Rust In Piece I get that huge amount of energetic vibe and the chemistry between all four of you gusys. It's just so great, that I can't imagine my life without it. Thank you to all of you Megadeth! To both Daves, to Marty, to Nick (may his spirit rest in piece) and to each member of Megadeth that has ever performed songs from Rust In Piece live or helped to produce the album! I still hope that some day I will be able to see you perfoming live! Kudos to you!

One of a kind album. Love it forever. Life was so free feeling back then. I was a teenager in the 80's living the life of a metal kid. There was a sense of unity among the metal fans during the 80's and most of the 90's. I am honored to have lived that and miss it.

I hope it happens again on the next album. And I hope, Max Norman as co-producer again. Double album - Heavy songs, Melodic songs, Orchestra songs, acoustic songs, thrash songs. But... most important very well structure together with Max Norman. Not just a bunch of solos, but 'great solos' in the right moments. I love the Mustaine's vocals on Countdown. It sounds so well thought and meticulously design. As you see in the Making Off Youthanasia, the vocal lines in "Addicted to chaos" was an incredible achievement. It Sounds so together... line by line. Hard work of Mustaine and Max Norman. I love to see that happening again! Hopefully!

The best metal album ever made - yes, even better than Paranoid by Black Sabbath. "Rust in Peace" is the album I wanna listen to from the very beginning till the very end. Even the least favorite songs of mine "Poison Was The Cure" and "Dawn Patrol" are fantastic. I never get tired of it. "Tornado of Souls" is one of my favorite Megadeth songs with other classics like "Wake Up Dead", "Hook in Mouth". and "Rattlehead". It is just like Black Sabbath's first one, Iron Maiden's Powerslave, and The Beatles' Revolver - almost impossible to be hated.

Antonio - They all are good albums, even British Steel which is full of radio friendly songs. The Number of The Beast starts with "Invaders" which is an awful opening song.

@@estelombo hahaha amazing. I had thought when typing it going with Dylan and Dutch from Predator but opted for the Mega Powers. pbs.twimg.com/media/DmxFFrfXsAEtEs3?format=jpg Though you said about Rust being on Hogan, I put Justice there instead. I also thought, after making it, about maybe sticking Reign on Mean Gene as he looks on in awe at the two titans, the pinnacle of Thrash. I know most would say Reign in Blood is the best but hearing it being mentioned along side Rust and Puppets, and knowing their time changes and complex song structure I was expecting something abit more from Reign than a one dimensional, 30 minute dash to the finish line. I forget if it was Hetfield or Burton who said it, but you can only be the fastest guy in town for so long until you have to expand out. It's title track and Angel of Death are fantastic, no doubt about that but I was kinda hoping for a little more from it when compared to what Metallica and Megadeth were doing.

Justice is severely let down by the stupid mixing decisions, and Metallica's refusal to revisit the album (or let a specialty label do so) and remix it as it should be.

That was the first CD I ever bought (and the only one I even owned for like a month) when I got my first ever CD player, back when they were still a new thing. It was this giant black box that looked like a VCR, basically the size of today's personal computers. I played Rust in Peace about 700 times front to back in about a month, lol. Such an amazing album.

Had a similar experience with Countdown to Extinction. I had something similar to a paper route and got my huge CD player (shock protected) with me. I listened to the album for 8-10 hours in a loop and the next day I forgot to take a different CD with me so it was the same again...My english was bad and it took quite some time to get behind misinterpreted lyrics. I love the sound of that album and I really hated the anniversary remix. Last Album I bought again was Killing is my Business on Vinyl and it's the best the album ever sounded. These Boots were collateral damage, but he tried several years to get his lyrics in and probably was fed up to censor it again or leave it out. So you got original lyrics with dave's twist in print on the sleeve.

In Sept 1990 I was browsing the CD section not knowing that day was the day this album was released. I saw it out of the corner of my eye and without hesitation snatched it up. It came in the old school cd longbox. That original disc is scratched all to hell and still plays without skipping. Since that day me and my circle of friends have said this was the best metal album of all time. To this day haven't been proved wrong yet

When I was young back in the 60's and 70's all anyone did was tell me ... " You're going to go deaf listening to that MUSIC " ! Ted Nugent , Black Sabbath , Alice Cooper and AC/DC and I could hear just fine . I went to concerts ( over 100 ) including Ozzy and ( God bless him ) Randy Rhoads , Iron Maiden , Deep Purple .... all the great Punk Bands and still ... no problems . THEN .... came Megadeth , Metallica , Death Angel , Testament , Slayer ...... still good . I'm 57 now and have spent a majority of time listening to LOUD music and some not so loud . I've got a huge music collection and I can still hear it just fine ( love my 10 year old Bose headphones.... which have taken a beating ) . So .... as it turns out Ted Nugent was right " LOUD is better and little blood in the ear is good for ya " ! kzbin.info/www/bejne/pX28hnqQdtCtnZI and in case you don't know ... Ted Nugent's FREE FOR ALL is another GREAT ALBUM that should be played as LOUD as possible !!!!!! I'll be 60 in less than 3 years .... I'll let ya know if I went deaf by then ! Rock your asses off you little PRICKS ! LMAO ! PK

@@onpsxmember There's a little bit of difference between my little sound system and the 60 to 80 thousand watts from their concert system . Even Nugent wears ear plugs at his shows . I have a volume knob and I don't turn it all the way up every time I play something . PK
@onpsxmember6 жыл бұрын
You explicitly mentioned going to hundreds of concerts without any hearing protection. If you're exposed to high enough SPL, your hearing gets damaged. You'll still hear, but not everything you could hear before that. Some frequencies won't ring a bell anymore or they constantly visit you.
