Best all rounder imo. I think broderick is probably the best shredder but the problem was he was robotic,no feel,a bit like petrucci at times(at times I know he's got some emotive stuff), Kiko is so well rounded,probably the most versatile guitarist megadeth has ever had and probably sounds better than any others at covering others solos
@dehypnotizerz2 жыл бұрын
Disagree. This dude plays entirely different thing. His stuff? Do what the hell he wants. But if he plays Marty's solos, he should do it right, note for note. What's that suppose to be? Some kind of fusion jazz?
@Camerato_r62 жыл бұрын
@@dehypnotizerz Are you delusional?
@dehypnotizerz2 жыл бұрын
@@Camerato_r6 No, as far as I'm concerned, no. Kiko is a showman (which is good) but showmanship can't overshadow shredder's skills. He's good but he's so unfit, unmatching to Megadeth as humanly possible - to me. Yeah, fussion jazz - he probably rocks in that genre as f_ck but he's not technical enough when it comes to play the old, good stuff. I'm a classical piano player and they taught us one thing: you play something, do it correctly, note for note, period.
@dehypnotizerz2 жыл бұрын
@Axl Perhaps my classical music education comes here but they taught us one thing: play note for note when you play someone's pieces especially if you're playing really good, almost cult stuff. I was playing Bach, Kiko should play Marty Friedman's pieces and he's not doing that correctly. Chris Broderick was the best, the most technical player, but Kiko simply isn't and I don't like it. As I said somewhere else, he's a great showman, which is good and Dave obviously tolerates this but showmanship doesn't make you technically good.

@@brucebanner52 what? Dystopia has the best material Megadeth has released since Youthanasia, thanks in no small part to Kiko himself. Just decipher it piece by piece. It's honestly not that hard as people make it out to be. They just all want to go fast and then they don't get the picking, rhythm, and notes right. Just go slow and work your way up. Same goes for the solo. Go piece by piece. Look at live videos (like this one) of ACTUAL band members playing the songs. Look at their finger placements. Listen to the notes if you can't tell what he's playing. Sing/Hum the song/melody and you'll get it eventually.

Yea but it sounded like a legit reimagination of it.
@Witmonger6 күн бұрын
Marty definitely still plays it like the record. I've seen him on his solo tour in the US the last few times he's come recently, and the one Megadeth thing he does is play his Tornado of Souls solo every show. It's just that no one can copy his style. It's simply unique to him.

I was in a Guitar clinic with Kiko Loureiro and he was like 3 mts away from my seat... I was so amazed about his playing... Minimal movement but his right hand aggressiveness blew my mind away. He is also as humble as hell. Such an amazing person. Guitar master.

Wow, best thing that happened to megadeth is hiring kiko, this guy is an amazing guitar player and believe it or not in megadeth he cant still show us his whole potential and abbilities due to the music but hey i like what we're getting. One thing to mention is that if this does not convince you that Mustaine is the master of riffs i dont know what else can do, and he still sings above all this guitar insane but coherent riffing, my utter respect to him.

Kind of deep but- if Dave Mustaine somehow stayed with Metallica he could’ve died while touring for Master of Puppets. Of course there are other factors, for instance, would there even be a Master of Puppets or would they have even toured on that day? Anyway it’s just fun to think about a Metallica lineup with Cliff and Dave
@ryeweskey5 жыл бұрын
A lifetime of listening to both bands, Megadeth is still my favorite, darker, faster, dare I say heavier? Metallica has it's moments, I still play and own all their albums but some are owned clearly for the collector in me. Anyway, Metallica has come through town a couple times in recent years and I've found better ways to spend my money than to listen to the guys fumble through their classics with a detuned bass heavy production sound and at slower tempos. Megadeth Won the battle in my mind.

Kiko is my favourite guitar player since 2004 when I discovered Angra, and Megadeth is one of my favourite bands since more or less the same year, but somehow I still find it weird that Kiko is in Megadeth after 5 or 6 years. It's like the Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover.
