you know I like Metallica and recently I found a huge interest for megadeth... Dave deserves a lot of credits for all what he did... I mean Metallica were always at least 3 guys making their way... they had good chances (opening for Ozzy, etc)... you need a huge portion of luck to get where metallica got... but Dave... dude... that guy got kicked out of a band... got himself up again... managed to get some very talented musicians (including himself) together... wrote awesome songs all by himself... had theluck to work with Marty fucking Friedman for years, has Dave ellefson (one of the kindest famous musicians I know) as a constant base player and hired Chris Broderick..... too poor megadeth never made it into Radio-Mainstream world wide... they kicked arses, they kick arses and they still do a lot more than some other left over metal bands from the 80s. has someone see slayer in recent years? whooa they got lame.... anthrax still have some vibe, but megadeth... insane what they in their age.... DAVE if you ever read this... you are a good guy, might be an arsehole while drunk ( I am that myself) but you made it! you made your own way! and some (nearly all) of your riffs are just insanely genius! thanks for that...

Devarsh Raval haha, yeah. I like slayer, I always did... but in recent years their live performance got a bit boring.... and lame. maybe its because I am used to younger, more active bands on stage (mostly from my local area).... dont get me wrong, I would still attend concerts, I still buy their albums and listen to them on a daily basis, but we have to face that our 80s thrash god bands are getting old. I mean metallica look like a bunch of granddads on stage.... they bring some lasers, pyros and bling to make look more thrilling...

I can't believe I'm saying this but they need way, way less distortion in their tone.

+Josh Brown What tone? hahah you are right.
@thesollock_39508 жыл бұрын
+Josh Brown It may be due to the way this was recorded. Sounds better on the album In my opinion.
@greyman27118 жыл бұрын
+The Sollock_ it wasn't the way they recorded it the amount of gain they put into the guitars or at least Dave';s rhythm was way to high

Il n'empêche que Kirk Hammet est une méga bête ! Je suis dingue de ses riffs et solos improbables ! Mustaine et lui sont frères dans la discipline !!!

People who don't like Dave's voice need to shut the fuck up. It works perfectly in his music and his style, its the perfect type of weird.

Metalllllll.

I am learning this song on guitar so I have been really paying attention to Dave's playing and not only does he sound better but he even looks cooler playing it. I am not talking about the obvious cool rockstar image... I mean even his hands/fingers look super cool while playing each lick! Each one of his fingers is like a little badass rockstar with swagger and style. My fingers look like they are gonna try to press the notes but afraid that at any time they might get wedgied and thrown into a locker

Chris played well. But with his classical style, it looked like he playing with his mind, not his heart.

Yeah, it's almost like he's too focused on hitting the right notes instead of hitting the notes right, you get me?

Chris Broderick is an absolute monster on guitar... I've been playing guitar for 15yrs and I still don't even entertain the fantasy that I'll ever be as good as he is... He is simply up there with the greats BUT... He fudged the solo... I know this solo by heart from hearing it a billion times and he probably just had an off day because I've heard another performance where he plays it fine.. Another thing I noticed... Don't you feel the entire performance of the song is just lackluster? Is it just the age? Or is this what happens when you've been performing for so long? Also the way this was shot is quite uninspiring and unsuitable for metal..

It may just be the fact that they are in a studio, not in a concert setting.

@Philip: would you say he is as good as Marty Friedmann or just more versatile (Chris Broderick seem to be good on acoustic as well) ?
@PhilipZilfo10 жыл бұрын
I think technically he is more advanced than Marty but Marty wins on sound and feel.. Just my opinion.. Ever notice how Megadeth never sounded the same after Marty left? He gave it that zing.. That special spice.. Also don't forget the stuff Marty did with Jason Becker.. Amazing stuff technically.. Anyways.. Chris is a stunning guitarist either way.. We're splitting hairs here.. I was just pointing that he fudged the solo a bit in one place..
@Glissmann10 жыл бұрын
@Philip- yes, i do agree that Marty Friedman's solos were the "pepper & salt" of all these great records Megadeth did at the time. There seem to be an upcoming record by Mr. Friedman very soon by the way and what i heard so far sounds incredible "signature"
