I honestly love how his voice has evolved. I think its better now than ever, which is saying a lot since he literally had throat cancer plus decades of smoking. It's like he's always been trying to convey the feeling of being in some sort of hellscape through his voice and guitar and, now that his voice has been through hell itself, it feels like it finally truly matches. Listen to life in hell as an example

Because nobody could sing it "right", they did try... Dave one day just said, fuck it, im gonna sing and it stayed. It really depends where in tour this was, if it was late in the tour, his voice cant keep up with his high pitch snarly vocals...i think he still smoked here as well.
