But that's just it. They never beat the villain. If you watch the movie closely they took great effort to show the first shark-the one that blew up the sub with Toshi and ate the octopus and the same one who bit the glass on the O-level of the underwater lab. That shark had different scars and a different bite to this one. Jonas even points this out so the less perseptive people can know something is wrong. I always knew this would most likely be the case and was so happy the first time I watched it that I was right. Thios second meg that they killed was never the one they met underwater.

The ridiculous thing about this clip is that the Meg was not going after the dude. It clearly was going after the smaller, dead shark. He just happened to be in the way. Which is more terrifying when you think about it because that implies the Meg could smell blood OUT of the water. Whether this was intended by the filmmakers, who knows, but that's how I saw it. If that larger Meg wanted to just eat the dude, it would have struck from below, but it didn't.

The Meg is based off of the book series of the same name by Steve Alten. Book one is same as the movie. Book 2,3,4,6,7 are sequels and 5 is a prequel. Highly recommend, one of the best books series I read. I’m only on book 4 and There are a lot of mind blowing moments.
