True Dub fans can appreciate certain aspects of just about any song in the genre.

Tis true. I hate it when people say that dubstep is a style that requires no talent. Being a musician who makes dubstep, it's helped me to realize just how hard and how long a truly professional-sounding can be. There are so many subtle details that go into it: the rise and crash cymbals, the hats/cowbells, the sub bass, and the list goes on. You have to make sure that the bass doesn't drown out the drums, watch out for distortion, then after you get done making the song, you have to master it.

OfficialDr3am5tep I feel the same way when it comes to Gabber productions, the songs are already distorted via bassdrums and hard leads often get distorted as well. So that makes things always harder on the mastering department. I'm sure some of the other EDM styles like Big Room & Drumstep also suffer the same misconception in regards to difficulty. It's the stuggle of EDM in general. On topic of this song, Megalodon is a boss.

Shook is now 10 years old! Megalodon's debut to UKF Dubstep! Huge respect for this artist making Never Say Die records very memorable! How much this artist have changed since this track, and I find it ironic since many of his tracks sound similar, this is just simple by comparison with his newer tracks! Shook holds a special place for me cause this still sounds good today in 2023!

What most people seem to forget is that dubstep has always been a minimal genre, since over a decade ago. It wasn't until 2009 that people started filling in that space. Proper dubstep is still about space. Minimal drums, deep sub-bass and a little mid-range, with small atmospheres and a lot of empty space.

Not to mention dubstep was started a little over a decade ago to bring people together from different backgrounds, the garage, dub, jungle, techno, hardcore, guys to all be able to spin their style of music at a similar tempo. It's message was about peace and love, good club vibes bass music that you could meditate or skank to. Now it seems the message is lost, kids arguing on who is better, kids disrespecting the roots, they truly don't know what dubstep means and the message it carries.

I think a good general term for people like him is EDM, so that all the sub-genres can fit nicely into what he produces. Long Drive (arguably progressive-house) to his remix of Goin' In (Drumstep), Bangarang is moombahcore and Breakin' a Sweat is dubstep.
