Less of a shitpost commet, but I'm really excited for more of these "mecha doll" style kits and designs; since the designers are allowed to embrace the weird robot-ness of the character, it means things like armor gaps, inhuman segmentation, and multiple joints (like the wrists) can be combined to give a much wider range of motion. Compared to the Buster, it seems like Megalomaria is 100% focused on articulation first; resembling a human is secondary. I think that's a very good thing in this case.

I am big into full on robo doll styles. Frame Arms Girls and Megumi Device get close with mecha parts on girls but this is just what we need. It gives Metallice Rouge vibes with the whole armor form

My hype for the Megalomaria line is real. Kotobukiya is rapidly becoming my #1, mainly with the inter-compatibility. I just bought that hand scale Magatsuki you reviewed the other day because I want to put it with my Hexa Gear kits... maybe put her in the forklift for laughs. Koto, it seems, is just about having some fun... and that's really goddamn cool.

I guess in-universe Megalomaria is a Tokusatsu superhero show in the vein of Kamen Rider with one of the Sousai Shoujo character playing the role.

The actual lore is basically just Kamen Rider or more appropriately Metal Hero but JoJo's Bizarre Adventure from what I can understand.

Yeah, I'm pretty excited for this line, especially Ruby Eye. Still, I've gotta finish four kits before I build that one- Tsugumori, a Mobile Movementress kit, HG Gelgoog, and HG Guncannon. I actually got the Mobile Movementress kit due to suspecting without evidence that it influenced this line. And because I like it.

Glad to see koto finaly got on the moveable eye tech train, saw them on Snail Shell girls and they look fantastic.

The eye parts articulation makes me think back of Revoltech Yamaguchi's Solid Snake eyeball picking tools although still amazing feature for a small figure.
@mafiuyu43058 ай бұрын
Yeah adding a drop of yellow or white paint for the iris of the movable eyes makes such a difference in expression of the face. Also adding chrome or silver behind the normal clear eyes makes it a lot more alive as well and gives the eyes more depth.

Such a cool concept, it reminds me of this show that’s currently airing called metallic rouge

Yoo! You finally got her. Honestly I’m hyped for this line as a whole, the articulation on these things are crazy. And as usual, modular out the butt. Building up ruby eye atm. I’ll say tho that even though it’s just flavor text, the story isn’t vibing with me from what I learned about it. Probably cooler to see them as kinda programs from tron like beings

Can't wait to get the Ruby Eye and Novice kit next! I also just built this kit and Im so surprised. Insane articulation and just such a cool design. Super excited to see more and more from this line.

Wow! that's the most amazing articulation ever! I hope this body-joint system is used more in the future.

I just finished Ruby Eye last week, my first into this line. The only things that I really wish they included were 1. toe bend, and 2. back and forth neck joint. The shoulder armor pieces on Ruby Eye does restrict her articulation a little unfortunately.

Time to get a few of these to kitbash with some frame arms kits. Wanted this the minute it was announced.

Dude thats badass! I like the non mask form with the long hair the best! Cute kit!

I've been wanting to make a kind of 'prototype' robot figure body with a mostly white/grey body but Im too terrible at painting. I picked up this figure and am planning on swapping the colored parts with the white/off white parts from the PENETRATOR Megalomaria figure when it releases (which incidentally is white where this kit is colored and vice versa). I was kind of inspired by the TOA synthetic human figure. I also wanted a alternate human looking head that would fit with the aesthetic so I got a Frame Arms Girl kit, mostly for the head but figured I could use the mecha parts as accessories.

The design and color scheme are very interesting. I’ve only built a single mechamusume kit but this one seems very tempting for the articulation and balance alone. Cool review ✌🏽😎

I don't collect any of these anime "doll" types, it's just not my thing. But, this one actually looks very neat, I'm always interested in cool and innovative engineering, I might pick this one up!

been trying to figure out which alternate heads to use as none of my current Frame Arms have the same type of back plate so not sure if it's the older ones or if I will have to take one of the matching size neck balls and customer build my alt joint to match with the existing as I have my Buster Doll Paladin head on the loose joint now but can't pose in certain ways or it would fall off overall happy with the kits out, still have the nurse and the seekers weapons to do but this was my first of the current units out...looking forward to the 'PENETRATOR' sniper unit coming up. I am on the fence about the Red Eye expansion kit.

I love the design of these, but I'm having a hard time deciding one which one I want to get. For the hair, you mentioned it's compatible with their SST line, but can you use Megami Device or Frame Arms Girl hair instead?

@ChamberK-16 ай бұрын
@@ZakuAureliusI just watched that and to be fair that build does look absolutely AMAZING, I’m just more partial to darker tones and cooler hues like blue and purples lol. How did you get that matte look on that Sinanju build btw? I’m assuming some kind of matte top coat?
@reijigamer8 ай бұрын
with Kotobukiya's in-universe story for this kit could this lead to an anime/manga/video game/movie/etc. series? also if Kotobukiya had media related to their IPs would that allow them to gain funds to increas kit production?

I'm curious how well these will hold up over time. Whether they hold poses and weight, or end up a floppy mess.
