It's different. It's offbeat. It's most definitely unconventional in its presentation and delivery. It possesses supreme visuals. Some call it a mess and say it's unbalanced. It is, in fact, a beautiful mess and is perfectly unbalanced. It is a Francis Ford Coppola masterpiece. I absolutely love the film.

Finally it's someone else who loves it. This guy's Inception comp had crossed my mind as well, even if I'd argue Inception is much less flawed (my favorite film ever) but Megalopolis is one of my favorite theater experiences of all time. A rare movie where I was willing to completely ignore everything wrong with it because it is so spectacular. Hit me at the perfect time of my life and has changed my thinking dramatically over the last week

You have to be willing to throw yourself into the story. Imagine the surrealism of certain moments like brush strokes guiding your focus to the theme. Like when Ceaser and Julia were traveling through Atlantic City--statues became animated, they moved, they crumbled, and seemed to die. This could appear to you as random or it could convey the building grief of the moment. They called this film a fable, and that’s exactly what it is. Allow yourself to be immersed in the fairy tale whimsy of it.

OR he just got it and understood it, whereas you and others just didn't.lol. hint: this is exactly what they said about Apocalypse Now. It's eerily the same reception and reactions. lol

Terrible film, a nonsense that is not understood. The actresses are of very low quality and it shows in their acting and since the actor does not understand his role it is not known if the acting is good or bad. Now I understand why the movie studios didn't want to produce it. There is no script and it is the sum of incomprehensible philosophical scenes. Very BAD and a failure at the box office and in critics, even though there are some who rescue something from this disaster, probably some snobbish critic and friend of Coppola?
