The original hit me with hard when I listened through the MegaMan 3 OST. It's so good! I felt strongly I need to remix it. In fact, I should even do each and every song from like MegaMan 1-4. The music is just amazing!
The process in remixing this by ear was quite a challenge, there are sections in this song that's hard to hear exactly how they are written, but I think I nailed them in the end. What I didn't notice before is that there is some hidden blues elements in the original song which I brought up to the surface and fused in my own melodies and arrangements. I think they gave the remix a feeling of a real keyboardist playing the solos (I'm not a real keyboardist, I'm a guitarist).
A question to you guys; what's your choice of order when it comes to selecting the stages in MegaMan 3? I'm thinking about remixing them all and put together a whole album of these.
Thanks for reading, and listening!

Must... resist.... 30 seconds in, great track! Edit: Magnet > Hard > Top > Shadow > Spark > Snake > Gemini > Needle I know you can start on Snake and use arm cannon, but I always did Magnet first. Wasn't trying to suffer through Snake Man's stage to start off a playthrough

Hey thanks for listening! And I'm happy you told your order of bosses. Haven't played this since I was a kid and want to give it a shot asap. Will try your order :) Also, I might remix the songs in that order too.

Oh heck yeah, man! This sounds fantastic. ^_^ I love the high-octave, driving beat of this one, and listening to it really gets you pumped up (as most Mega Man tracks tend to). I've never played Mega Man 3, but this remix sounds very true to the style of the series' music in general, while adhering to your own signature retro-synthwave style. I noticed that there are some new techniques being used here (at least, new to me), and they really make an impression! For instance, that repeated note at 1:51 is really interesting, how it kind of echoes away gradually, like a delay, but it sounds like you had the note repeat a bit quieter each time. Regardless, it must have taken a good deal of work to get that to sound just right. In a way, it almost sounds like a siren fading off into the distance, which works, given the futuristic, city feel of the games, where rogue robots are always running amok. Another thing that's really cool about this remix is how many fast-moving running parts there are, kind of like shredding guitar solos (or maybe this is what you were referring to, as more of a "bluesy" kind of feel?) For example, at 0:50 and especially 1:45, you have this awesome sequence being played on the lead which is really complex and just plain fun to listen to! And there's also another supporting part at 2:10 which starts out a bit softer, but builds up underneath the melody, and I just love the way it moves from the background to the foreground of the song in the span of a few seconds. Also, it's insane to think that you transcribed all of these parts by ear! Truly impressive. I'm always amazed by these unique and powerful transitions you come up with in your remix - it feels like each new song is guaranteed to have at least one, and the one used at 0:53 is wild! And man, that toned-down section immediately after, where the music kind of "takes a breather", so to speak sounds so spacious and ambient! You always manage to capture that "wide open" kind of sound, and it makes you feel like you've just broken through the wall into an open space, and gives you the feeling of flying, falling, or drifting... it's the perfect way to change up the energy of the song, and it makes the main sections that much more impactful when they reemerge. The arrangement and song flow are always top notch in your remixes! I love the background you designed here, by the way. It's neat how your background style is consistent, but there's always a new color scheme, varied background elements, different silhouetted characters, and unique effects to look out for! Also, I enjoy the titles that you come up with, as it just shows another degree of thought and care put into the remix. Fantastic work, as always, my friend! 🌟

Hey man! And thanks for a most inspiring analysis of my remix! As always tons of interesting thoughts which I really love. Ok first, you should play MM3 :D Get an emulator and go, the music is fantastic! Did you play other MM games on NES? You have a good ear buddy, that repeated note at 1:51 is exactly as you think it is, just a repteated note with the volume turned down slowly each time. I wanted to do that manually/analogue to have perfect control, instead of modify a modulated delay. The solos are all improvisations I wrote directly from my head, and the bluesy notes is on purpose to create another feel leaning more to guitar shredding :) Other than that the transcribing wasn't that hard on this one! You should try it :D My next song was much harder actually, dunno why! I'm glad you like my ambient sections, they are really fun to write and I always get relaxed and trans-like when putting them together, it's a real treat every time :D Thanks for the background compliment, there goes that MegaMan plastic toy again. I reused it from my Storm Eagle background along with Dr Wily's castle. Since this is the title theme I thought his castle would fit. Usually there is a boss you can put in there (just like Storm Eagle or Spark Mandrill). I also fell for that pixel city art I used, like a glove for Mega Man NES games :D I'm happy you stopped by and threw another comment buddy!

@@NeonXGameRemixes Hey, thanks for such a detailed and gracious reply! It means a lot to me that you enjoy reading these longer comments, and that you take the time to respond in such detail. :) You do have me intrigued and wanting to play Mega Man 3, although I tend to be bad at platformer-shooter hybrids. The only other Mega Man game I've played for NES was a rom hack of MM2, (it was called Mega Man Ultra, I think?), and I really liked how they incorporated elements of different Nintendo games (e.g., Super Mario Bros.) into it. But I've never actually beaten any of the NES MM games, I'm a bit embarrassed to say. 😅 It's wild to think that you compose all of these cool and complex solos yourself! You have a great sense for where the notes should start, how they should progress, and what the end point should be, and it's clear that a lot of heart and musicality go into your originally composed parts especially. I actually used to transcribe music, back when I was in college, and when I had more time, but now I've become a bit reliant on sheet music, since it takes me a long time just to transcribe a basic melody. And when it comes to complex chords and basslines, I feel like it's more a matter of "eh, that sounds close enough", and I really struggle to transcribe fast-moving parts. But it is something I hope to return to one day - thanks for the encouragement! :D Indeed, the visuals work well for your Mega Man videos, and I always love reading about how you make your backgrounds. I look forward to seeing how you'll continue to make cool and unique backdrops for your music! And hey, I got the notification for your new Mega Man 3 remix earlier today, too! I'm definitely going to be listening to that one tonight, and I hope to be able to comment thoroughly on it soon! Take care, and see you soon!

@@juef Actually never seen Satriani live, nor have I seen Steve Vai live. But Dream Theater and Iron Maiden :D Unfortunately no, there is nowhere to listen to anything, not yet. Well, depends on what you want from the picture. I always put together several objects into one picture. This is for example a random pixel art city, Dr Wily's castle (official art I think but I made it all dark), a Mega Man plastic toy photographed from behind and some light/shadow work on it. Logotype is also official art found on the internet. So do you want the picture like you see it in this video or any specific object from it? :)
