if they beefed up the Atroz Comp with those wheels and that extra bracing on the fragile rear triangle, it would be an epic bike... Might even be worth having a good welder add those to the atroz if you own one and plan on keeping it. I've had all the atroz bikes, and it's the only thing that worries me when out on the trail
@TrailChasers7 жыл бұрын
agreed, the new atroz expert witch is a nashbar exlusive ahs the new blanchard 28r wheelset, i also believe that all the new models come with the little support piece on it
@Derkenblosh27 жыл бұрын
I do not see any new atroz with the support or Blanchard wheels, my '17 comp doesn't have the support, but does 'look' better suited than my 2016 atroz

@Derkenblosh27 жыл бұрын
And the wheels are 25 vs 28, qr axles, and looks like the headtube isn't tapered. Doubt the triangle is braced like the option.... Wacky specs for sure
@TrailChasers7 жыл бұрын
James Koenig oh, good spot there, I just assumed the Blanchard was the same, all the atroz actually come with the ability to run a tapered headtube, I believe all atroz based frames now ship with that extra triangle for more stiffness and durability

Really like your channel so far. I'm new to mountain biking, in fact I've only done it once a couple years back at Big Bear Lake in California. Of course we rented some bikes. Anyways now that I've started my career and have some extra revenue coming in, I've started researching more and found your channel. I want a good entry level bike and am leaning towards the Atroz. I like your comparison of the different models. $1,000-$1500 will probably be my price range. Would the jump from the base to the comp be night and day? And if I did go with the base, would I be able to do upgrades if I do decide to continue with the sport? Thanks again
@TrailChasers7 жыл бұрын
Marlo Stanfield the base vs comp is night and day, the suspension really is eons better on the comp, and the 1x11 will make it much easier to climb, it also has a proper narrow wide chainring and clutch mech so that the chain should never come off. you could buy a base and upgrade but it's always better to buy the better one as you'll spend much more trying to upgrade to the similar spec of the como, also the base has qr axles while the comp has bolt through axles, the difference in stiffness is huge the comp fork also had a tapered head tube and steerer to improve front end stiffness
@marlostanfield10877 жыл бұрын
Trail Chasers Isn't quick release preferred?
@TrailChasers7 жыл бұрын
Marlo Stanfield no, both don't need any tools, but the QR axle version is the old we skewer, they are what come on most target bikes and give the bike a flexy feel the quick release bolt thru axles give a much stiffer feel and are much more durabke
@tristanmorton10576 жыл бұрын
No if you have 1500 you could get a really nice used bike on pink bike

Are the suspensions of the Atroz 2016 (Blue) any good? Do they have lock out?
@TrailChasers6 жыл бұрын
They dont have lockout and are fairly basic but work well, considering the bike has 100mm of travel even without the lockout it pedals fairly well
@a_gill2427 жыл бұрын
Really looking at the atroz comp. I'm wanting to take it downhill (my park that is close to me is pretty smooth and flowy) but will the atroz comp last? I took my specialized hardrock with a small amount of front fork travel and did fine on the harder trails.
@TrailChasers7 жыл бұрын
Asher Gillen i would look into a heavier duty bike for downhill, look at some used models of the specialized enduro, usually the 2011 enduros go for around the same price and will be much better for lift and hold up better, these bikes really are made for trail and shouldnt be used for lift
@a_gill2427 жыл бұрын
Another question is that I really want a trail bike that can take downhill too. Thanks anyway :)

Hello, i got the 2016 Atroz base, i just upgrade the rear spring and coil shock for a Air shock, and the 120mm SR Suntour XCM for the Rocksox Reba , my questions is if i can upgrade the 3x8 drive trend to a 1x10-11?
@scxrlethouse6 жыл бұрын
Eduardo González Is your rockshox reba tapered? I’m thinking of getting a tapered fork and getting one of those headset adapters.

I'm just getting into mountain biking and was originally going to buy a mongoose XR-Pro for $350 because I've heard it's a pretty decent bike that can increase in value/ performance with the right upgrades but ended up opting to purchase a Daimondback for quality assurance & due to the fact that compared to brands like Trek & Giant they have options that are generally less expensive. In doing so I went over my budget and spent $1K on the 2017 DB Recoil Comp 29er and wanted to know what you thought about it's specs as a starter and whether or not switching for the Atroz would make much of a difference since they're exactly the same price (assuming they're similar in value minus the fact that the recoil fork isn't tapered). Would I be alright sticking with what I have and making upgrades over time?
@TrailChasers7 жыл бұрын
+L0ELIIFE YT it really depends on what your doing, the recoil is ok for xc and trail use, the atroz is a little more aggressive and will most likely be a better choice if you want to be aggressive on the bike
@iAmLoeTheCreator7 жыл бұрын
Trail Chasers yea I'd like to get more aggressive with time. Thanks bro you're awesome 👌🏾
