okay wow, I was watching this and thought to myself, "Wow, this looks like a real good and emotional movie." Then I scroll down to the comments and I just got cancer... Everyone gets so worked up. This is a movie about a soldier and her dog and has nothing to do with the cruelties of war or whatever idiots think war is. I'm gonna watch this movie and like it because I don't pitch a fit when people try to make an emotional movie that just happens to be set in a disastrous time.

@ZoeHewittHosting7 жыл бұрын
Yes, very true--the movie's themes are love and loyalty. It's not a "war movie" since even the most dramatic war scenes don't have the same gritty feel as other war movies. War seems like more of a backdrop than the point of the story. In fact, the main elements of the story were fictionalize to emphasize the themes. It's a good movie, though, and they did a great job with creating dramatic tension even in a movie that we all know the outcome of already.

A bond between a human and an animal can be magnificent and out of this world. Only a person who experienced such a bond can truly understand the meaning of what I just wrote. The fun/sad thing is if people would get along the same or similar way there would be no reason to have disputes, problems or even wars. We tend to listen with all our senses to a face that can not speak but we tend to do the opposite to a face that can. ...maybe because us people are just too complicated to get along with each other.
@carlarock97067 жыл бұрын
I am appalled at how awful many of these comments are. This movie is to recognize the soldiers that often get overlooked, war dogs. Dogs have been invaluable to the survival of many soldiers for nearly every war you could think of. This movie is NOT supporting the war in Iraq, it is simply recognizing the brave souls who put their lives on the line to fight for their country, which is something that isn't being done enough. You can disagree with the war, but don't disrespect the veterans.
@dantasticmania87287 жыл бұрын

Say someones grandpa was a nazi general....and he got away to south america after the end of ww2. He is a veteran. But should everybody just respect him for being a veteran? I can respect people that endured horrible times as soldiers in a war ... that got into this mess because they were drafted. But there are so much people going to the army of their own free will. America is a country of great culture and opportunity but to me, the ones that left history are all war criminals, money hungry, fighting-crazy idiots. Everywhere they go the places go to shit. They literally always bring war with them. They never have serious reason to go to war. Would they just stay in their own country everything would be fine. Anyway, the problem is the wrapping. I would like to see a documentary about "army dogs" ... but not a hollywood movie.
@mangalores-x_x5 жыл бұрын
@@RodebertX quite a slick move of the goal posts by going from some GI of a k9 unit to a Nazi general. Repeat the point with some German Wehrmacht soldier of a k9 unit at the Ostfront and you might make a point. Generals have slightly more responsibility in policy and the conduct of war than some person joining the military out of a plethora of reasons.

That's a good point, I don't mean to hate the soldiers or to say that they are bad people. I just mean that killing is never a good choice of action, war has never in the history of mankind solved a problem for good. There has always been another "terrorist" group. US military could be called terrorists to, they do the same thing ISIS does, killed and glorified it. How would they feel if they killed a man with there hands and felt the life leave him. That's a different thing entirely. Many never even think of the family that man has, only feeling the hate towards him. Most soldiers have lost the ability to be truly compassionate. I understand why many feel like killing may help the world, they don't know any better. All the US propoganda and family sopports soldier to kill a man without a thought. But yes die for a cause you believe in is very courageous, yet if there cause is to seek justice, the truth and peace then killing is not the way to do it. And that should never be glorified, because if the time comes when violence doesn't at least feel wrong then humanity has failed.

I have all the respect in the world for marines and just as much for dogs like the one featured in this upcoming film who risk their lives so that we can live ours. My only issue with this film and others like it is that the premise is the same... the central human character doesn't like his or her life so their only solution is to run away from it and join the army, military, navy, marines, etc. To me, that projects a negative message because it says that if a person is dissatisfied with their life then all they have to do is run off and make the armed forces a convenient escape. Joining the armed forces should be a choice made because you deeply believe in fighting for and defending your country... not because you hate your life and the way it's turned out. People who want better lives should ask God to give them enough strength so they can do everything humanly possible to make their lives better instead of running and avoiding.

My friend's brother, who is not her biological brother, was a drug baby. His mother left him in his crib and only fed him when she remembered too. But, I'm assuming by your standards, he was loved. He had a roof over his head, fed, and had a room. Wow. Guess I was looking in all the wrong places. My point is, just because they have things doesn't make them loved. So far we know nothing about this character's relationship with her mother, though, they do seem pretty bad. Of course, I'm assuming she does receive "love" from her mother, but never felt that way. I don't see how having those materialistic things can make someone feel loved. A mother can buy clothes for their child to make them shut up and stop complaining. Like the girl in the movie joined the army to get away from her life, dude, and a dog, that has not only saved her life but cares for her and gives her nothing but that, is something she probably hasn't experienced in a long time.
