I've watched this incel behavior bubble up to the surface for several years. Once KS started getting notoriety with hip-hop (Joe Budden, Future, role on "Atlanta"), those thoughts spread like wildfires. (And, yes, I'm aware of the moment--it's that bad.) These men ushered in the Black QAnon, and it was evident during the election season. She has a right be afraid of these radicalized weirdos. It wasn't until relatively recently that I learned a concerningly high number of people think Tory Lanez is innocent! I mean, I remember Drake making fun of Megan Thee Stallion, but like...Drake has been transparently terrible for years now, so that was just another shitty thing you would expect from Drake. But then I see all these conspiracies about Tory Lanez not shooting her. I mean, it's the internet, I shouldn't be surprised. But guys, do we have to be assholes and idiots about absolutely EVERYTHING?

I always lurked on your page since the Kendrick/Drake beef, however didn't subscribe. As a female fan of hip hop/rap I am eventually disappointed by the stance of some of the men on this platform with respect to women in hip hop or women in general. However today, it is good to know that I can subscribe.

Justin's takes, from what I've seen, are always from a place of integrity and maturity. there's a few others on here who reject misogynoir the way he does too, but not as many as there should be.

Thank you Justin. Takes like this are so needed and appreciated in hip hop journalism. So far, you're one of the few I watch to stand on business about this and I swear it warmed my spirit. You inspire me as a future journalist. Keep up the amazing work.

As someone who had to file a temporary, then permanent restraining order against a man I met I can tell you that her fear is real. I felt it until the day a detective called me to tell me that the guy was in prison for doing something worse to someone else.

Love this video! It’s so upsetting how she couldn’t shot at and now harassed and questioned / not trusted. How can we create change when we treat victims like this?

It's some real dirty ish what happened to meg. I hope the guys who defended Lanez wake up before it's too late.

I'm a survivor of domestic violence and I'm thrilled that Meg got that conviction and now this restraining order. But its really emblematic of societies attitude toward survivors that Meg is being harassed by third parties about it. When Nicki tried to drag Meg for being shot by her partner, I lost any shred of respect I had for Nicki. How is something like that even on the table? How is Torey not being investigated for the harassment? How is he not in solitary during said investigation? Hopefully we, as a society, pull our heads out of our asses and cast our side eyes to those that actually deserve it in domestic violence situations.

To me this whole thing has been a case study in how celebrity, financial status, sexism, and racial prejudice affect the public and judicial opinions on disputed matters. Regardless of all that, it is ridiculous the way Megan has been treated period. I'm glad she finally got some good news.

Thank you so much for calling out the bullying that Meg continues to experience by the culture. I was also turned off by what Ray Vaughn said about Tory shooting Meg. Like, why is she catching misogynistic strays? It is a dark part of hip hop’s legacy to be demeaning, exploitive and dismissive to women…especially black women. I hope more men check him. I feel like we have enter a new chapter in the culture. I hope we leave that part behind.

Thank you for reporting this fairly🙏🏾 The way this woman has been treated by our men is appalling. So nice to see a real man speak up. Give yourself a 10 second applause 👏🏾

Seems like every time incels have a problem with a woman the first move is to deepfake her, shit's disgusting. I'm just glad there's voices like Justin in hip hop that don't ignore or justify this bs.

Tory needs to take accountability and move on. I dislike men who refuse to accept responsibility and use their power to undermine women. Those who claim Megan lied should remember that Tory was convicted by his peers, and the evidence overwhelmingly supported that conviction. It's time for him to take responsibility and move forward.

I don't know what the disconnect is. You can't fire guns at people. That has always been against the law. If you think you're not responsible for bullets that leave your gun, then I don't know where we go from here. Just sounds like people would be totally cool with having some drunk person firing five bullets at/around them.

I have yet to hear on remotely plausible alternate explanation to what happened to meg if tory didnt do it from those supporting him. Nothing other than free Tory. Its lame and sad. He is in jail where ge belongs and he is doing himself no favors. Behind bars is where he belongs and everytime he acts a fool he will be there longer and that is of his own doing.

"Why don't women report?" "If it's true why didn't [xyz] woman come forward sooner then?" Because coming forward and coming forward quickly, with money, power, fame, and support of the facts in a court of law *still* won't stop people from questioning and harassing a woman who does speak up. Meg deserves the world.
