Wow!! What a story...Well you are a major inspiration to people who have... both their arms and for people who have lost their arm to a ‘great white’ but here’s what I learned about myself listening to your story I think you mentioned something about ADD or something to that effect. I think I have that myself just listening to you LOL.It’s pretty as you are it’s gonna take more than just losing an arm you are gorgeous

Ross sent me , thank you so much very inspirational. Its so amazing that you're still here after an accident like that. I certainly have all my limbs and dont know what you go through but i hurt my spine pretty bad four years ago and getting around has been a struggle since. You talking about how asking why and what if questions and why me really helped me. I did that for a long time myself. Its great to see your spirit and smile. Really helped me feel not alone and in better spirits.

Megan I can relate to you. I just lost my left arm in July 2019. It was a freak accident. I fell out of bed, hit my head was unconscious n not sure how long I was unconscious but when I was found my arm was purple. I was airlifted to USA in Mobile, AL. I was in hospital for a month. This has been the hardest thing I’ve ever gone thru. I’m still struggling putting my hair up n tying my shoes. I’m trying n this will not defeat me. You’re an inspiration to me.

You are so lucky to be alive. My nieces husband is an amputee from the knee down from a motorcycle accident. Initially, the doctors were able to save his leg but he walked with a severe limp and was in excruciating pain 24/7. He eneded up choosing amputation and says it was the best decision he ever made.

Came here from vlog creations, funny video! About a year ago, the lower half of my arm was detached from my upper arm at the humerus. I liked hearing your story because I had the same experience in shock and with the funny bone feeling I was wearing a sweatshirt so I couldn’t tell my bone came through my skin. I had to go through surgery and all that but lucky I was able to get it surgically reattached, real respect to you for what happened.

I was in a horrible car accident (with fatalities) 5 years ago. My right leg was 95% pulled off and i broke 25 bones. I had the option to amputate but decided not to and after 13 surgeries and months in the hospital i was able to keep it. I am still in a wheelchair and in pain. I regret not being brave enough to amputate. My question to u is do u ever regret making the choice to amputate?? Also, u are SO brave to make such a huge choice at 14!!

I know you made this over 6 years ago, Megan, but (apparently for a first effort) you did it so well. I can't imagine having to go through your trauma @ age 14. That is when "aesthetics" become the center of your life and "popularity" is what people live for. So to have that happen to you....wow....yes, I'm sure the grieving was even more intense than the physical changes. I am old enough to be your grandfather (and then some). I have been widowed twice and thus understand THAT dimension of grieving....but that heals after a few months....whereas you carry around a constant reminder, so I can imagine that it goes on, for you, in quiet alone moments. God bless. PS: Yes, I have guardian angel stories of my own. The pinched artery is classic !!

Wow I'm so glad I found your channel, I really needed to see some real stuff I'm tired of going on KZbin and all I somehow keep tracing back to is pranks and "I try following blank's tutorial" . I feel like it's making me stupid seeing all the same recycled mediocre content when I try going on here. And your videos are really interesting and meaningful some are really educational. I feel more motivated listening to your story, I'm only two videos in but I'm definitely watching more and subscribing!!!!! That's crazy you had such a scary life changing experience at only 14 years old I can't imagine how big of a change that must be. But you have a very lovable personality and I think it will take you really far and bring you great success for sure. Your positivity is very inspiring. It's refreshing to see genuine, meaningful and helpful content. It's hard to find that because KZbin keeps throwing trash in my face I have to go digging for the stuff I actually enjoy watching. I find myself sitting there clicking on stuff and halfway through I'm like this is so boring and overdone what am I even watching rn but like thats all I see in my feed. Thanks for making KZbin a better place 😂❤❤❤

The thing you said about the nerves shutting down, when I was in a go-kart with my brother, he was swerving on purpose and I was laughing because it was fun and stuff. But I flip over the rail on the go-kart(I had a seat belt on but if I didn’t I feel I would have fell out completely) but my arm started rubbing against the back wheel. After my brother pulled me up I thought my arm was gone. I couldn’t feel a thing. My eyes were watery from crying but when I would blink they cleared a bit so I can see and I looked down and saw that my arm was still there but I was touching it but I couldn’t feel it at all. I had a huge like “burn” type thing from my shoulder to my wrist. Hurt like a bitch. I’m really glad I didn’t lose my arm and I’m REALLY glad my hair didn’t get caught in the wheel.

You are such a strong person. Most people would just give up and just let an accident like this bring them down forever, but you have so much positivity. It really makes me smile for some reason.

Hi Megan, Your video came up in my YT feed. Thank you for sharing your story. I was born & raised in WA state ( Bellingham) & was an RN at Harborview Medical Center from 2008-2013 . Hearing your story brought back memories of working there & cases we would see. I found myself saying- yep PCA ( patient controlled analgesia) , & compartment syndrome. You mentioned saline & that is given to keep your blood pressure up from blood loss, trauma, shock etc. yes the hospital is a trip. Praise God the decision was easy for you & that you are alive! God bless you & I can tell your experience & channel is blessing many others.

I stumbled on to this video, and what a compelling story! I enjoyed your brave matter-of-fact determination. Since you seem open to questions - I noticed you still articulate your left shoulder at times. Do you still feel your arm making certain gestures? I'm aware of phantom limb syndrome, but I'm asking if you feel the gestures as your shoulder seems to move in relation to those movements. That sweater is also gorgeous! An interesting choice - off-the-shoulder, both highlighting and covering the residual limb. But observations aside, you're cool. I'm glad I clicked on the video

The shark comment in the description killed me. I’m missing fingers (since birth) and I always joke and say it was a shark lol.

Oh, as an EMT I can tell you what they meant when they said there wasn't enough time to stabilize. They meant stabilize your arm into a neutral position onto a make shift arm cast. It's a process where they could tie your arm onto a hard rod like thing that EMTs have on their rig

Megan! Dear god you are brave. You have me in tears. You almost bled out twice. Nine years ago and it seems like yesterday. Happy 2018 to you, too! Old guy here (69). Raced motorcycles. Lucky to be in one piece. Greetings from NJ. ~Bomba

It is so wonderful to hear your story and how you survived! Actually, my uncle is an amputee, only he lost his right arm when he fell 80 feet and him loosing his arm is what saved his life!

Megan, i love you the way you are. Never change that. Keep on fighting. keep on smiling. Been clinical dead announced. Been through hell and back as well because of physical issues. Had a motorcycle accident back in 2007. Broke my hip, shattered wrist. some other things. Woke up 2 hours later in the hospital. remembering 3 vague moments. Then my fight began. it's now 12 years later. when i look back.. and look at the man i have become. i get a pretty big smile. people around me would have never though i would came out of it this strong. The strength we humans get when we suffer a pretty big fight about life and dead. our own life.. and there is no other option then to fight for it. It's a gift. Most people will not understand such strength. I love it, to see the way you accepted what happend. It's your history. it made you the person you are today. all i can say is.. i am proud of you the way you fought through it. and respect to all the support that has been there for you. when you look back. look back and smile. Your way more powerful than you think. there's way more pages to be written in your life :)

Wow the fact that you didn’t bleed out is incredible. You are VERY lucky considering nobody tried to prevent you from bleeding out before the paramedics arrived (from what I could tell from your story). And if the arteries weren’t pinched I feel it would be nearly impossible to stop the bleeding long enough for medical assistance. Incredible story

Megan, I'm so sorry this happened to you so young but I want you to know that I appreciate your how-to videos. I'm 62 and only have the use of one arm. I'm growing my hair out because a short 'do requires a lot more styling and two hands, you have already helped me a lot. I appreciate your tutorials!
