Great video, one side done on my 265 but other side closet to exhaust can't budge it,

You mean where the flexi joins the hard line? Yeah it's a bit of a bitch the back is even worse might be worth trying heat
@jamesharper77922 жыл бұрын
@@davezetec yep, tried heat but reckon it's going to break. Lol not even going to bother doing rears, now I have one Hel braided line and the other still the old rubber one lol
@davezetec2 жыл бұрын
@@jamesharper7792 oh no! well you could always look into running a new brake line or getting a garage to do run it if it breaks
@jamesharper77922 жыл бұрын
@@davezetec apparently it's an absolute bastard to run the new line according to the garage I usually use. Wonder how feasible flaring a new joint. The caliper pipe links are also massively rusted and Renault want to sell me 2x new Brembo calipers lol. Nightmare.
@davezetec2 жыл бұрын
@@jamesharper7792 Christ, surely wouldn't be hard to make those u links yourself. Can even paint them red to match. Plenty of videos on flaring tools and pipe bendind etc

Why wasn't there much fluid coming out when you disconnected the flex from the hard line?
@davezetec2 жыл бұрын
it would run out quicker if the cap is off the brake reservoir but otherwise not all that much comes out as it is suspended in the closed system. Believe you can also push the brake pedal in and wedge it as it's returning and this stops the fluid coming out too I haven't tried that though.

Why did you butcher the line??? Just spread the collar on the bracket to release the stock lines. I didn't unnecessarily cut the stock brake line to fit my braided lines.
@davezetec Жыл бұрын
Because I can do what I like 😂.. from memory it was difficult to spread and I didn't want to risk breaking the collar when I had no intention to go back

9:30 I just snapped that braking pipe, It came out together with the bolt. What should I do now? Order a new braking pipe? Any advices?
@davezetec2 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's tough to get the joint turning without twisting the pipe. Potentially run a new brake pipe there's plenty of videos of bending/flaring brake pipes etc otherwise perhaps Renault sell them pre bent.

Why would you do the caliper first?
@davezetec2 жыл бұрын
I can easily lock off the caliper side from leaking fluid

hey so is this a big issue if they're other way around? I just mounted right facing rotors to both of my wheels, and now worrying that it could be detrimental to something...

What discs and pads are you running ??
@davezetec2 жыл бұрын
Last ones I was running were Winmax W6.5 which were great although I didn't wear through them fully. CL RC6 were great all rounders I had a couple of sets of those. RC RC6E latest the longest (E for endurance) but they made a mess of my wheels 😂 CL RC5+ didn't cost the earth and worked great on the back (I had issues previously with excessive wear on the rear make sure you run non-grooved discs). Honourable mentions those friction Z pads were trash, no bite. PBS ProRace were ok for the money on the front Discs were PFC V3 floating discs although I didn't think they were that much better than OE plain discs
