IMO this episode has the most well-rounded, believable characters of the series. The King is the quintessential dad, and Tim Thomerson’s dry wit as the messenger is a scene stealer. The stepsisters...just hilarious. “Perhaps some....HAAAAAM?” 🤣🤣🤣 and who wouldn’t want Edith Bunker as a fairy godmother?!

I grew up in the 1980s. I loved Shelley Duvall's 'Fairy Tale Theater' on cable network. This was my second favorite episode. My first favorite episode is ''The Pied Piper of Hamelin' with Eric Idle. Thanks for the memories.

A simply delightful selection of fairy tale stories. The actors do a marvelous job. The sets and the costumes are very nicely done. I think the viewer might be surprised, maybe even shocked, at how, a 'great' deal different many of these classic tales were originally written. They're cool, They're mostly the Grimm's Bros's, maybe some Anderson's, others I'm sure. Some of the tales are really dark. Instructional and behavioral type stuff I guess you could say. But, - Cinderella is WAY different. Yeah, she's in there, and yeah, it's her alright. It's just, - 'different.'

This version of Cinderella is wonderful; it's somewhat like the original version. I love Matthew Broderick, but they could have found a more mature looking actor for the prince: he looks & sounds like a preteen. Also, they forgot the lizard footmen. Apart from that, it was simply wonderful

It was perfect casting Jennifer as Cinderella. Not far off from her portrayal of Alex Owens in "Flashdance" two years earlier. Welder by day, dancer at night. Prettiest girl with grease and soot on her face. Mathew's performance here may have cemented him as Ferris Bueller two years later. His charm and his subtle comedy stand out here.

This was copied on a vhc tape which I watched again and again in my childhood. Also there version of cinderella too. The soundtrack of them dancing the first time brings back memories of dancing by myself in the living room while wearing my Halloween princess dress. Then jumping from couch to couch with a broom to ward off monsters. I was a weird kid. (Thanks for sharing the video)
