My family had this car back in 2004-2007, it was super cool. As you can see, it looks extremely modern for a car made in 2004, and people were constantly taking pictures of our car. Never had such an experience since then.

Very nice car. Been looking for a first car, most of my friends get someting like VW Polo or VW Golf from about the year 2000. The ForFour is just as expensive because it's less popular and smaller than the Golf, but reliability is a lot better and less elctrical problems.

Car is pretty nice little one...I have the Brabus Xclusive version. Not even that one can escape problems. Worst thing is the technical part in computer system. Display can show empty and suddenly full haha. Heard that's caused by sun. The small things in the clock, rev counter etc melts in hot sun. Crazy shit quality but very fun with 205HP in this small car.

Bought it at a low prize with low mileage or kilometers in my case. I bought it as a 1.3 but my mechanic who put it in diagnostics said its a 1.5. I had to fix many things on it. The roof was leaking, the paint was chipping with every visit at the car wash (still does). The front glass roof sunshade is broken and because it is almost impossible to find the part, those who will sell you a used one, will ask you for a ridiculous amount of money. Like 270 (!) euros in my case (didn't buy it) for a piece of cloth basically. The fuel gauge had its own mind. The AC pump broke. The windshield wipers stopped working The diagnostics revealed a few more problems but nothing alerting so I didn't bother. The interior trim is also not the best. I had to replace the factory radio/cd and the speakers. The gear leaver is made from a very cheap plastic which was worn out badly by the previous owner's rings. I fixed it with a silicon cover. The handbrake release button is very flimsy and the "leather" cover is also worn out. The cloth trim on the dash is detached in the area were the central vents are. Caused by the heat of the vents. I have to replace the whole upper part of the dash to fix it. The good news is that the car never broke down. The engine is reliable and punchy. It likes to rev high but it is always noisy. The car handles better than most. It has a sporty feel to it. The steering is direct but has an odd feel to it which I got used to after a while. The brakes are really good. The seats are good and hold you in the right places but they are a bit narrow. Fuel consumption is also good. It is practical and roomy for its size. Mechanical parts are easy to find and cheap unlike the body and trim parts.

im 6ft 5ins maybe 6ft 6ins... and i have one of these... however he has the passion one, which granted where i live is pretty rare, i only know about 4 people who own a passion, but mines a little bit more rare.. mines the pulse version, which looks the same, minus the alloys and is meant to be a little lighter. also mine has all windows electric and is right hand drive as i live in the UK... i bought it for £2,500 with both mirrors broke (someone snapped them off before i bought it in an attempt to sell them on ebay as they sell for £120 per mirror, i found the mirrors the guy was trying to sell and picked mine up for £30). however out of the whole 200 miles i travel in a week, i only know of one other person who owns the smart forfour pulse (like mine)... however the pulse also doesnt have a sun roof, as its saved weight everywhere to make it better. not sure on why its rare to see the forfours these days... i mean i know they still make fortwos, but not sure on if they still make forfours.

Brandon Chiam ended up getting rid of mine.. the ECU chip in it burnt up and basically caused issues with it turning over which meant that it wouldnt work properly as it kept shuddering and shaking rather than working. ended up buying a little old rusty micra and getting a CBT for a motorbike licence.... currently love my little 125cc cruiser... not as fast as the old smart car use to be, but its a fuck ton more fun.

Legroom is huge in the bag if the front seats are occupied by 2 medium size adults and the back seat is fully back. With two very tall adults in the front, the space in the back will be limited because the dash intrudes a lot in the cabin and you have to move the drivers seat even further back. Headroom in that position will be a problem too. Considering there is a glass roof that will be touching your head, also expect some painful situation. I own one. Lucky for me I'm average size!
