A major fire has broken out at the Megazone laser adventure game in the West End of Morecambe.
Six fire engines raced to the scene, part of the Promenade was closed and the police helicopter circled the area.
Thick black smoke could be seen billowing from the Marine Road West building for miles around.
Crowds of hundreds gathered to watch as fire fighters used a hydraulic ladder to shoot water through the roof.
Police discovered the fire at 6.18pm on Thursday and the blaze raged on for hours as crews fought to bring it under control.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue said nobody was in the building when the fire started and nobody was hurt, but there is extensive damage to the building.
It is believed that the owners were away on holiday.
Contingency fire crews tackled the blaze due to a national strike by firefighters.
The Megazone, an indoor game where players attempt to score points by shooting targets with a 'gun' which fires infrared beams, has been open since 1993. Prior to that, the building was home to the Tussauds waxwork museum.
