very well photographed/produced video - which was a welcome surprise after following your eevblog link

I finally got one of these. One big issue I have with it, is that it is very slow to give voltage readings. If I knew this, I would not have bought it. 😕

Yes, same issue! Writted to factory to ask for updated firmware. Insanely slow, deal breaker!
@jdev9992 жыл бұрын
@@ilijavk I also asked the manufacturer for fw updates. They don't do any. 😕

After a little bit of investigation I discovered that the problem is the autoranging. If you set the volt range manually it's fine. Anyway, it appears that Megger have discontinued the model so I presume it was a flop.

It looks nice! I just got a second hand fluke 87v Ex mind condition. Everything looks good with the meter except I don't like it's 9v battery attachment and the poor display looking angle and its illuminated mode. I am thinking to return it and get one of these brand new on sale now for $218.

Did you get the mrgger? If so how do you like it.

Love it. Great product. This is a professional review, respect for your video/edit. skills. May I ask where to find any compatible rubber protection case/sleave similar to that one you presented in 9:40 minute? Cheers.

Thanks, im not aware of any specific rubber protection for the device. I jammed it into a Brymen sleve and it fit, not perfect but it went in fine.

One thing I can't come up with in a search on this meter.... What is the display update rate for the numerical value, and also the bar graph?
@mrpetit24 жыл бұрын
You compare the Megger with the Fluke 87V. But how does it compare with that Brymen bm869s? (Which happens to be my favorite multimeter, and I believe cheaper too). Also I miss in your rating system something about accuracy ( it is in your like/dislike list though) I think when comparing to the Fluke 87v, you should compare warranty, servicebility (incl. Calibration possibilities) and ruggedness, as those are the 87v's key purposes I think. Personally I think I would get nuts from this meter due to the voltage and current inputs are the other way round compared to most other meters. Then again it has the shuttersystem which protects you for making mistakes on that point which is a nice feature. However I always wonder how rugged that is. Does it hold up to the 50k switch lifecycle test how for example Joe Smith does these?

How fast are the capacitance readings, is it almost instant or is there a 5 to 8 second delay? What is the drop rating? Weight of meter?

Hi, Can you explain why Megger have discontinued both this and the 830?

No idea, probably a new one coming

First impressions from work in the maintenance field is really slow DC voltage reading, 12, 48 and 110DC. Practically unusable for field work, screen refresh rate is deal breaker. Waiting for firmware update. Looks like promissing device, but avoid for now!

Like the video but not the product. I'm UK based, home of Megger but the 800 series isn't really pushed here, more in favour of the 210 and 410. Bought one though and it's just arrived. New out the box 835. The K probe is flaky with values dancing around and looks cheap and nasty. The case is also a bit 20 quid Aneng. Quite shocked really, pun intended. But really felt deflated that such a product could be so disappointing at this price (£235 inclusive). I've had a quick test and not impressed. My advice is do as Megger UK seem to have done, try and forget it! Anyhoo, that's my 10 cents worth.

Really good, professional, objective review. Just one problem, the inane music, lose it in your future vids, we aren't imbeciles that need music with everything we watch. As for the meter, it's now on my short list.

Excellent vid, very well presented, just one adverse comment, the 'kin background music!!! Please lose it in your future vids.
