Meghan Markle SLAMS ‘angry black woman’ roles as cliche

The Duchess of Sussex has recalled auditioning for roles when characters “always had to have an edge or an attitude” in a podcast examining the trope of “the angry black woman”.
In an Archetypes episode focused on gender and racial stereotypes, Meghan said she finds herself “cowering and tip-toeing into a room” because she worries about how her behaviour might be perceived by others.
During the latest episode, she was joined by comedians Issa Rae and Ziwe in discussing the challenges faced by women of colour in the entertainment industry.
Meghan said: “I remember when I was auditioning, the idea of even black roles, and I remember those casting sheets where the description of the character - she always had to have an edge or an attitude.”
Introducing the episode’s theme, she said: “This idea that a black woman must be angry when we all know sometimes things make you feel angry or sad or hurt or upset and that’s not a gender or racially specific feeling. Yet this trope of the angry black woman, it persists, and… it was being reinforced constantly in ways we hadn’t even realised.”

Meghan seems to have very little insight into her own behaviours and inferring that people object to her behaviours because she is black is just disowning and trying to excuse her own behaviours and disrespect to subordinates in the work place and to Harry's family and her own family. She doesn't seem to realise that you get far more out of people and better results if you are nice than if you are demanding and unpleasant. She is making out it is only the perception by other people that is off and infers it's racism at play if others do object, which is nonsense. If she can dismiss objections to demanding, diva or nasty bullying behaviours under the guise of saying it's other people that are actually at fault and they only see it as bad behaviour because of her being black she does a huge disservice to black women everywhere. Importantly, when not using a great deal of tanning spray and bronzers, she doesn't look black, she looks Latino at most and I don't think anyone would perceive her as black if they were on the receiving end of those behaviours. I watched a video on this site in which she talks about a trip to Malta and she looks significantly lighter than she does now, in fact I would have thought she was Caucasian if seeing her for the first time in that. She has become obsessed about race and perceived slights related to her colour and it's unedifying, particularly as she is using it as a subject to make millions of pounds out of. If that isn't 'privilege' I don't know what is.

Black women are not angry. Black women are some of the kindest giving women in the entire world. They dominate in sex appeal and intelligence. They are the highest educated group of people in the world. Do your research and you will learn more about it. It is a way that they act that's being judged. Because that's another assumption is that their behavior is mean because they tend to not tolerate poor treatment. But a black woman will go a mile for anyone that she finds in need. One common trait majority of black women have is they have genuine love for their families.
