Now THAT'S the way to cover an iconic song. Don't compete, connect! Great version. Stripping it down to a solo acoustic is brilliant. The song's about Elvis. Here's a quote from him: "If you can't do it on a straight back chair in the middle of a room with flattop guitar on your lap and a 60 watt bulb in the ceiling? You can't do it." Amen

My dad was an alcoholic and drank black velvet growing up he was a gorgeous man. Charming, breaking hearts was a mommas boy. When I was a little girl I first heard this song while in the back seat of a car my dad in the passenger seat swinging a bottle of bv. This song played and I watched him and swore to God over my life this song was about him. I thought songs were made for ppl I knew back then He's dead now. Died xmad day 2017 and still swear this was accidentally written for him. As an adult it still fits him to a T but makes even more sense now

Great cover and great voice! Hosever, I want to shine a little light on the guitarist singing harmonies. He sounds amazing in his own right. You two compliment each other perfectly! 😁

Meghan this is a beautiful. brilliant rendition of Black Velvet. We as a family had always treasured Allanah’s version : which we still do. My goodness though; you really put a marker down here. Wonderful. Wish you well in your career; please play this at Concerts; a real treat for fans. When we’re all allowed to have Concerts again of course.

Mississippi in the middle of a dry spell Jimmy Rodgers on the Victrola up high Mama's dancin' with baby on her shoulder The sun is settin' like molasses in the sky The boy could sing, knew how to move ev'rything Always wanting more, he'd leave you longing for Black velvet and that little boy smile Black velvet with that slow southern style A new religion that'll bring you to your knees Black velvet if you please Up in Memphis the music's like a heat wave White Lightnin' bound to drive you wild Mama's baby's in the heart of ev'ry school girl "Love Me Tender" leaves 'em cryin' in the aisle The way he moved, it was a sin, so sweet and true Always wanting more, he'd leave you longing for Black velvet and that little boy smile Black velvet and that slow southern style A new religion that'll bring you to your knees Black velvet if you please Ev'ry word of ev'ry song that he sang was for you In a flash he was gone, it happened so soon What could you do? Black velvet and that little boy smile Black velvet in that slow southern style A new religion that'll bring you to your knees Black velvet if you please Black velvet and that little boy smile Black velvet in that slow southern style A new religion that'll bring you to your knees Black velvet if you please If you please If you please If you please
