My grandma loved Zumba so much, we used to do it together until she passed away and I’ve really missed that energy and diversity of community when you take a Zumba class! Had the same experience with my pcp recently. Things I was hesitant to talk to him about because he wasn't my "specialist." He was so receptive and took care of so many things on the spot that I had been pulling teeth to get done for months previously with the specialist doctors. I literally teared up I was so happy to have someone truly listen and care.

Hi from a longtime viewer in Burlington! Listening to your story about finding your PCP made me so happy! Vermont’s healthcare system is such a mess (especially where I am in Burlington). I also had an experience with feeling like I was being rushed through my doctor’s appointment. Once I started studying Health Sciences, I learned that PCP’s typically get paid by how many patients they see in a day. So even if you have a 30 minute appointment with the doctor, on average, you really only get MAYBE 7-10 minutes of face to face time with a doctor. That’s by design. So the doctor’s have more of an incentive to rush through appointments and double book themselves rather than sit and spend time with each patient getting to the root of what they’re being seen for. Unfortunately, it’s all about quantity and less about quality. I work at one of the only primary care offices in Burlington, and it’s a complete shitshow up here. ♥️
