I just wrote this on the last vlog, but not sure if you would see it. ... Try looking into those swivel wall mounts for your TV.. you'd be able to have it swivel out from the wall and down a bit so you can still have the tv mounted above the fireplace, but your neck won't be so cranked.

Welcome to homeownership where all your vacation money now goes to keeping your house functional lol 🫠 My recommendation is to not rush into furniture purchases! Get to know how you move through the space, where you spend time, where you need organization, etc. if you want to change the vibe-paint goes a long way. Enjoy the process!!!

Gas appliances give me anxiety but there are definitely perks to having a gas stove/oven. However, if you are going to upgrade your electric panel you might consider just switching to an electric stove/oven. Then you wouldn't need to move the gas line, just have it capped off. That would make it much cheaper to open up the kitchen and allow you to have an open concept!

I’d probably put the 2 matching chairs in the window area (and move the other chair to your office). You can always rearrange when you have guests over, but it’ll open up more space and be more functional in the day-to-day!

My immediate thought was "gallery wall duh!" but then you could also get like a funky wallpaper done on the longer hallway wall. There's non-permanent options too so you could change it up whenever you feel like. OR even better and more wild. Wallpaper the ceiling and gallery wall the walls. Yeah go all out. Do that.

We are a Lowe’s family as well. And the Loew’s hotel as well. It’s in our blood. They are just nicer all the way around. Also, in knocking down your wall, your gas line run below your house, so you’d keep your gas line so don’t worry. My brother-in-law is a plumber. Also, you can keep your built in if you expand to your built in wall. I’d consult with an architect. As for your kitchen, you can have your kitchen designer keep your “look” because I doubt your cabinets are salvageable because there is probably water damage and wood degradation over age. But they could mimic the look in the new cabinets.

The two dresses with the slits were the most flattering and most elegant imo. You looked stunning in all of them, but those two seemed to fit you the best, and the colors of those two were magical with your skin tone (fake tan not necessary, if you don't have the spoons for it.)

For the narrow hallway: add a few niches. You can put shallow art pieces or just framed art in them. You can also install stained glass in them, with soft lights behind.

Highly recommend looking at an over the fireplace mount for the TV. I have one and it’s great because you can just push the tv up to be above the fireplace and look like art or when you want to use it you can pull it down and it goes in front of the fireplace. I think that would really help the configuration of the room if the TV was there.

I love the cozy vintage, cottage, antique interior style youre going for!! I think what would help you organize while ur still sorting out where your smaller furniture/decor pieces should go, is ask urself will it match your new aesthetic (I.e, Knickknacks, lamps, mirrors, sides tables, rugs, curtains, chairs, coffee table) and start donating/selling it now to put towards items that will match ur aesthetic :) and will help you with that fresh new start to design!!:)

Little-open-shelf-in-kitchen idea: Keep various things you have a small abundance of (like unused leftover chopsticks, napkins, keurig-type pods, etc.) in matching containers that are lovely and unbreakable. If something does fall/spill, it won't break and they'll look nice and tidy between uses.

For the kitchen maybe knock down part of the wall to the stove/gas line hook up and turn that space into a counter/bar area. That way it is a little more open and gives you more counter and cabinet space. For painting the cabinets if you want to do two different colours I'd recommend putting the darker color on bottom and the lighter on top to draw the eye up and brighten the room.

I think a candy or treat dish/container would look cute on that end shelf in the kitchen! And maybe a basket or two? To hide our Wi-Fi router and modem we got a skinny Yamazaki rolling cart that has shelving on one side and is enclosed on the other. So we have the router and modem in the shelves, facing the wall, and use the top of the cart as a surface for books, plants, etc. It fits into tight spaces and is pretty innocuous looking.

Oh goodness so many ideas here, first loved the dresses, it took me too long to finish watching the video bc of work, so now i have things to say, first, kitchen placement you can keep your stove in that area, and incorporate it into the island. Some people do the sink, you have a gas line there so why not, it will require for you to have an extractor behind it or above, so think hard about it. Since you have a dining area and don’t need the nook, you can extend the kitchen counters all the way to the wall, maybe add a window, and since it will add more storage under you should be fine not adding more upper cabinets, and it will give more openness to making a bigger island which is always useful. Living room, just get a new couch, smaller so it can be placed parallel to the tv and you will have more space for chairs, you can always have a small sectional or deep one if lounging is the idea, look into love sac sactionals. You can make them however you want and multiple fabric options. Nice and easy to clean. Or just get a interior designer, lol. It’s a lot of work, have someone think for you is the best. 😉

Any individual who intends to work as a plumbing contractor that is responsible for constructing, altering, or repairing a building or structure needs to be licensed. It is required by law in California to be licensed through the state to legally perform plumbing work, especially valuing more than $500 in labor, materials, and other costs. You don't need a license to begin working and learning if you are directly supervised by a registered contractor.

For the rounded open shelves in the kitchen, what if you put baskets and fresh produce there? Not breakable, and pretty to look at. I was going to suggest pretty coffee mugs and glasses, but those are def breakable. Also for the couch/chair/tv situation - what if you put the ottoman on the other side of the couch. Then move the chairs so they are facing the TV. I think it would take up the same amount of space as you have them now, but be more functional

Your home is really coming along. Congrats guys! Can't wait to see what updates you do. Have you thought about, in the living room, putting the TV on the opposite wall to the fire place, sofa on the current TV wall but away from the wall with the sideboard behind it. And the 2 brown chairs in front of the bay window looking at the sofa. Could look cute 🤷🏻‍♀️not sure if it would work 🤔 x

Always keep 1 or 2 gallons of water in the closet in your bathrooms for situations like that or long term electrical outages. Always gotta be able to flush.

Ooo put the brown chairs in front of the window rather than the plans. A little coffee nook.

You could cut down half of the wall instead of the whole wall & stop when it gets to the oven, make it like a little bar area!

I don't know your opinions on statement wallpaper but maybe do the shorter wall in the hallway a statement wall to give it interest without having to hang art that might make the space feel more narrow

Just want to let you know that this weekend is the Topanga flea market at Pierce College in Woodland Hills. I like it because it’s way smaller than all the other ones and I don’t think it’s as overpriced. There’s also this guy that’s in an old pick up truck with a sign on his windshield that reads something like “associated press pass” Who brings the contents of his warehouse that’s filled with the most random AMAZING things. He’ll have insanely beautiful handmade prints and bins with a bunch of shit that you have to dig through but let me tell ya, it’s worth it. Like two months ago it was like the clothes out of an Indian store so he had Indian bedding and skirts and just the most random beautiful fabrics. You can find true treasures. Anyway, The Rose Bowl in Pasadena is every second Sunday, and I think the Long Beach antique market is every third Sunday and then the Topanga is every fourth Sunday of the month. The Long Beach is another amazing market. And at the Rose Bowl there’s a booth not too too far from he small bathroom area that has tons of pillow covers in BEAUTIFUL fabrics. I know about this because my mother sells vintage clothing and I help her each time. This is where most of Hollywood gets their stuff. I don’t say anything when I see anyone but it’s so much fun to see stars among us regular people and people not even realizing it. Like back in the day Drew Barrymore used to shop from my mom a lot and so did Scout Willis who was often there with Bruce. Again, I never said a WORD.
