Biggest point that you should have discussed is caste system. Brahminism. Why BR Ambedkar and his followers abandoned Hinduism due to worst treatment in history. Why Buddhism was the way Ambedkar showed for all the way of Buddha and his Dhamma.
@meghnerdАй бұрын
Caste atrocities & criticism of Hinduism is peppered throughout the video. But I think the Buddhism part does need a lot more.

@@meghnerd Thanks Meghnath for addressing my comment. I agree with your 1st point. It was a superb video which throws light on life of BR Ambedkar. He who put social reform infront of any other reform as well as freedom from colonism. My point is that Ambedkar explored other religions too. Like Sikhism, etc which you mentioned. But Buddhism was the only one he chose. And his entire community of MAHAR converted to buddhism. Today I can see this people have risen among society from shudra-ti-shudra to very well educated class on India. They have subsequently undergone economic reform due to detaching themselves from Brahmanical tyranny. No other scheduled caste followed Ambedkar in conversion in your very own Nagpur Diskha Bhumi, Meghnath sir. This other SC are left far behind in social, political as well as economic reforms. I think this conversion of Mahars to Buddhism marks a very significant milestone in Anhilation of caste which Ambedkar always talked and finally brought to its fruition. We really need to look at this angle. Its not a mere conversion to other religion for sake of practicing religion. Buddhism use to be the religion of people in India in Ancient India and all of south east Asia, China till far east Japan. What did he saw in Buddhism? He's book Buddhism vs Brahminism says Indian history is fight between this too entities and that is majority of History of India of past 2500 years. This things are very well ignored in Video although it touched everything else and was banger to watch. Keep it up Meghnerd.

I think this stream is an intro to Ambedkar more than anything. Everyone has one particular thing about Ambedkar they find extremely important and fascinating. The point of this stream is to introduce people who don't know much to some starting threads they can then pull for themselves. Like I didn't know what you said about the Mahar community, but now I'm gonna go and read!
@harshalgawai746Ай бұрын
@@antsywoman Yes do read it. BR Ambedkar was born into Mahar which were untouchables under Peshwa rule..it was and still is a cruel system. Systemic oppression on this scale needs to be told out loud. Ambedkar along with lakhs of his followers(Mahars) converted to Buddhism. This religion was selected for many reasons..most important was Buddhism believes in equality among all things. It holds Shila(piece), samadhi and Praghya as 3 pillars. 22 prathidnya were taken. Old gods of Hinduism were let go to enter new religion. Which was not at all known but was once a majority religion at times of Mauryan, Pala, Sathvana, etc.

I am not sure if it is an oversimplification or what, but basically, RSS and DR. BR Ambedkar had one common thing i.e. hatred for Gandhi. Moreover, it is shocking that he never received a Bharat Ratna or any other national recognition for all his contributions towards the social upliftment of a majority section of our society. Makes you realize no matter which government is in power they will only recognize efforts from pro-establishment people.
@VoLvOX.Ай бұрын
Don’t spread your WhatsApp level sh*t here. Those similarities were completely coincidental because Dr. Ambedkar and RSS both were challenging the INC at that time. The RSS-BJP nexus now exploits that relation just to fetch votes because they have already alienated Muslims and they cannot afford to loose more sections of society for their politics.

Why Sayajirao or Shahu Maharaj helped Ambedkar is because they might have a sympathy towards uplifting the depressed classes but definitely because they were tortured and controlled by the brahminical people too much. Their entire administration was domonated by the brahmins & many times the Maharajas were not allowed to perform as per their will.The constant meddling in their day to day affair by the brahmins was unbearable. So they really wanted somebody from the bahujan samaj to come forward to counter the brahmin dominance.

@sushmitapawar540Ай бұрын
No there aren't any. His surname Ambavadekar was cut short by his school principal because he thought it was too long. Very arrogant of him. But as it became a documented surname, Babasaheb carried it on. Babasaheb didn't give any reasons as such but only the Principal's act. About the Brahmin surname bit, that's a misinformation spread by Brahmins. Babasaheb's class teacher was a Casteist Brahmin, as per Babasaheb's own experiences.

I think it's very plausible that both men believed strongly in what they considered the truth. Ambedkar found nothing redeeming about Hinduism but seeing that he converted to Buddhism , he was not an atheist whereas Gandhi was a true believer of Sanatan dharam. On the other hand Ambedkar probably realized that he would get more concessions out of caste Hindus than the Brits . Gandhi was called Mahatma because he was for all indians not just Hindus . Sure his early years in Africa were problematic but his ideas got refined over time . Babasaheb perhaps due to his intellect and perhaps due to the fact he was not rooted in spiritualism veered towards nihilism or at least cynicism . But obviously Gandhi's optimism was proven wrong and babasaheb ended up predicting the future more accurately.

3 points on Gandhi - Ambadkar 1. Ambedkar accused gandhi for separate electorate of Sikh and muslim. By the way seperate electorate given to them in 1909 when gandhi was not in India. So, it make no sense to scold him for this. 2. Gandhi's joint electorate is way better then Ambedkar seperate electorate. 3. Gandhi was castist in his initial life, but later changes mainly after 1930s, where he allowed dalits in his ashram (even after opposed by mainy closed ones people like kasturba gandhi ) . In 1940s - 50s he only went to inter caste or dalit marriage. So, calling him casteist doesn't make sense, because people change. Because in World War 2 Ambedkar asked Dalits to join the British Army, but later he changed. So, if you think that people don't change, then we can say Ambedkar is traiter and British stoge even after independence If anyone want too debate, kindly reply 😊
