Meguiar's Air Re-Fresher Odor Eliminator Review and Test results on my 2001 Honda Prelude

Hey guys, I know a lot of yall were asking for the Meguiar's air freshener!!! I just happened to see it the other night while walking through Walmart, its new for 2015!!! I've used this before accidentally locked my keys in the truck, (rookie move) so it was running for about 45 minutes while a friend took me to get my spare keys. Afterwards I could still smell it around the three month mark. great product super easy to use.

Get a good spray bottle and a mixture of odoban I prefer the citrus one. Spray it in the car, trunk and Ac vent to deodorize and disinfect. 9.99 for a gallon @ home depot and get the 2 pack of odoban real citrus air freshener. This is the killer combo and you can use it in the house also. I promise you will not be disappointed!

place an open cup of vinegar in cup holder, roll up all windows allowing car to heat up. this will cause the vinegar to evaporate and settle into the fabric. it should eliminate the smells permanently. the vinegar smell will dissipate as well.

Smells good (to me, some people, including my GF hate it) but most importantly, it did nothing for the stink in my AC vents on recirculate. In fact, the only thing that did work, was a chlorine dioxide bomb (expensive to do every few months) and now, an ozone generator. Cheap, easy, and 100% effective. After this, you can use any sort of scents you want to. I use all natural lemon grass oil.

Is it the ozone generator you mean is cheap, easy and effective? I have tried a swedish brand of ac-cleaner but don't think it dit much. I just had cleaned the inside of the windows when I found the ac-cleaner and after I had used it I had to clean all windows again :( maybe I should look up chlorine bomb and maybe invest in a ozon machine.

@@magnus1liljeqvist yes, I got my ozone generator on eBay for like $49. Works great… However, after a couple years, my AC vents we’re getting so bad, that the ozone generator would only clear it for a couple days. I had my mechanic run that foam disinfectant through my AC condensation drain tube. That was a soIid fix, but I expect to have to do that once every 6-12 months. My mechanic says he sees this more often in hybrids, maybe because folks leave the AC on a lot, even when the car is not being driven. I know I do. Heck, I sleep in the car about twice a month on road trips, and the AC goes for 8 hrs straight. (fantastic to be able to do that btw) but it sure makes the AC system start stinking worse / quicker ☹️

If you’re actually trying to permanently remove odors from you’re car, the ozone generator is the way to go. It takes 30 minutes to a couple hours, requires setup, and it also takes a few days of driving with the windows cracked, but the results are almost always a car that does not have odors.

I have dealt with the damp and musty smell in the car, tried so many products and after a week the smell(s) back!!!!!!. Get yourself an empty spray bottle fill with vinegar spray into air condition ducts ,lift hood an spray into duct, its usually located on the passenger side of the car, now turn on car and air conditioner leave running for 10 minutes. car is going to have the vinegar smell until it dries out. you can put your fresh air products in. the car will soon smell nice..

You can do the same thing with a can of Lysol Disinfectant spray. Just leave the A/C on in recirculation mode and spray as much as you can into the car before shutting the door. Leave car running for 10 mins. And you are done.

Thinking the front vents as well as the floor vents should both be open and not just the front vent only. This might be one of reasons why some people still experience an odor afterwards.

seventeenfor It did not say, I am guessing its how often you want your car to smell fresh. I could smell it around 2 months on though very weak by then. Just like any other typical air freshener it dies out with time.

I had no residue at all in the car after using this, yes running the AC will make it run better and recycle so it keeps running through your AC system and gets any stinky smells out of it!

step one, check your a/c filter, youtube your car model and changing ac filter, if the smell is still there when you turn on car, step two look up using lysol for moldy car ac, works like a charm

of course, it just helps as it flows through the AC system and vents to get any nasty smells that linger int he AC system out as well! Even if you have just vents, turn the vents on and let it circulate.

I bought a used Lexus GS350 that came off lease and the car reeked of smoke. A combination of washing the carpets/mats, blasting the car with ozium, and steam cleaning the headliner significantly reduced the odor, but there is still a hint of cigarette smoke. Seeing this stuff on the shelf at the local Vatozone I decided to give it a shot. Followed the instructions. The stuff smells very similar to ozium which is good. The fogger idea makes sense because its meant to get the product everywhere just like cigarette smoke manages to get everywhere. Will this eliminate the smell entirely? IDK ill have to wait a few days to see. So far the smell is good especially when the AC is on.

+Ronnie Trinidad heres what I would do is have the cabin air filter changed which costed me arround 12 bucks changed myself . I paided 120 dollars to have my nissian rogue full clean carpet .ect and ozone shock treatment. Then I used this product just incase and not had the smell and its been over 2 months since I did that.

Spray a half a can of lysol in the vent intake on the outside of your car at the base of the windsheild by the hood while the ac is running. This smell is probably coming from mold and mildew etc inside your vents also change the cabin filter if your car has one

I use Maguire products but this is a NO for me. I use Fabreeze and I clip them on my air vents in the backseat. Don't like it in the front(looks ghetto) and the whole car smells good.

is this can releasing Ozone? They have machines that can pump ozone into your car. Ozone can make nasty smelling things dissipate. So it will get rid of the bad smelling molecules, not just mask them.

Mine smelled good for 1 day and the same odor came back, not sure if it's a cigarette odor or what cause it was a used car but I've tried everything and can't get the odor to go away, I've shampooed carpets, seats, ceiling 3x plus use a whole thing of fabric refresh. Lysol, and this air fresh can and still can't get rid of the weird musty sour smell

hmmm I never had any such issues. Have you tried any other products that get rid of the odor? Try some products that you put on the carpets and vacuum up.

Just got back my 2005 Tacoma from Frame recall. it sat at dealer for almost 5 months. it smelled Funky after sitting for so long. I cleaned and shampooed the seats and headliner it smelled good but not quite up to snuff . saw this at walmart and purchased New Car scent for around 6 bucks just used it smells good so far . its like a Raid Roach bomb for your car
