You can buy sponge polishing kits on ebay with a puck that attaches to a drill. The puck has a velcro face with a dense foam pad behind it which should attach to the sanding pads in the Meguiars kit. This is what I use, and it keeps the sanding pad nice and flat for a uniform sanding action. Just search for 3" sponge polishing kit, or something like that. I paid less than £5 gbp, and it comes with about 10 circular sponges of varying densities.

Meguire's own PlastX product seems to be much better at removing the oxidation than that first bottle in the kit. I would use PlastX first, then spray the clear once the headlight is clear and dry.
@9fiveb1806 жыл бұрын
The first product isn't a polish. It's an oxidation remover and etching compound that delivers an even, less labor intensive multi-step way of achieving the frosted looking fresh layer of the plastic lens for the second product (the spray) to bond with and not seal in scratches. But they will look vaguely blurry, not absolutely crystal clear, and it only lasts a couple months before it starts to degrade. That Maguire's Plastix stuff is giving me milky results as well. Faaaaaaak!

because I am using exactly what it shows how to do it, this is how I roll:) Got to show you what results can be done with just the product on hand.

I did it on my old car it lasted for six months like perfect I don't know how it's holding up now because I sold it but I'm sure it's still holding up

my results will be skewed as this car sits in the garage all day long. But, in the past it would easily last 6 months or more before it started to get a bit of yellow again which was easy to fix then. Just remember to get a good sealant on it!
