For anyone asking yes it will strip wax and sealant because it's an abrasive
@GReviewz6 жыл бұрын
Prestige Valeting and Detailing thank you for watching. I may or may not have said it was abrasive but thank you for pointing it out. I definitely would not use the wash plus every wash just before a full wax job.

What’s the difference between wax and sealant? Thanks in advance
@mark980706 жыл бұрын
Looks like a good product to use 2-3 times a year or however many times you apply sealant. But not for use with regular washings in between applications of sealant.

Knowing that most clear coats are ultra thin, using anything abrasive should be avoided.

jim davidson what should I use to strip off the old sealant? Dawn?
@T4nkcommander5 жыл бұрын
honestly, I found that if you use normal mitt pressure, it doesn't make a huge dent in your LSP. Considering how great it is as a soap, I think I'm going to just use it for every water wash going forward, instead of just my 6 month deep cleans.
@GReviewz5 жыл бұрын
It is a great soap but I noticed that when I used it for example in my video it stripped my old wax/sealant off pretty well. I was using normal mit pressure and not pressing hard at all. Thanks for watching.
@aydentheninja8776 жыл бұрын
it actually contains polishing pollimas and abrasion and can be in a way a wash and polish in one all ready to rewax Seal or whatever floats your boat

Good video,This product does work for it's intended purpose,I did use it on a used SUV i purchased that had all of it's paint there but not shining by any means,washed it with wash plus which really cleaned it out good then clayed it and the waxed it it really made the old paint come to life,but this wash you will not use after waxing after waxing just some regular wash and wax soap will do .

Jose Sanchez thank you for watching. The product does work well for its intended purpose. I will keep using it.

@@GReviewz what other products do you use to remove wax/sealants to prep paint for paint correction?
@GReviewz5 жыл бұрын
Bubba Jerm thanks for watching. This product does do a decent job. On the absolute cheap end I’d say dawn dish detergent. It will get the job done. I’m in the process of testing the hydrosilex rewind. It is showing promising results. Stay tuned for that video.

I've been detailing cars since I was 15. I'm 50 now and have never used a "strip wash"... I simply buffed or polished the paint to get it ready for wax or sealant. That's My way. There are no rules.
@GReviewz2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your input. Meguiars doesn’t even sell this product anymore. I save a polish or buff for extreme cases of the paint has swirl marks etc. I like like to keep as much clearcoat on as possible.

FYI... Longevity ratings for products has to do with UV protection not the longevity of hydrophobic effects.
@GReviewz6 жыл бұрын
Ric Brown thank you for watching. I normally base the protection on the products hydrophobic property. If it’s not beading anymore I normally add another layer or strip it and add another product.
@ricbrn6 жыл бұрын
I am speaking of manufactures specifications. If its just hydrophobic properties you seek it would be a whole lot easier to use Hydro or Wet Coat when you feel the need.

How do you wash it in the sun
@GReviewz6 жыл бұрын
Steven c thank you for watching. In the video the 4Runner was washed in the shade of our garage. Also the outside temp was quite cold. You can wash any vehicle in direct sunlight if you make sure the paint surface stays cool and you dry quickly to avoid water sports.
@evythefish216 жыл бұрын
Sooo, you have no clear coat left? Full detail, inc compound/correction?
@GReviewz6 жыл бұрын
evythefish123 when I say a full detail I mean what “I do” I first wash the vehicle, then I remove all the old product. In this video I used the wash plus to remove old wax. Then I clay bar. Once the car is virtually clean and down to clear coat I then apply what ever wax/sealant I want to it. If there are paint imperfections then yes compound/correction is needed. If your paint is free from blemishes then compounding is not needed. Compounding actually removes a small amount of clear coat.
@evythefish216 жыл бұрын
@@GReviewz yup, exactly. I was just noting the compound stage can be touchy, esp. With softer Japanese paint. The clear coat is extremely thin. Check out Apex Detail and Dallas auto's channels. They are about the only 2 guys who are addressing removal of to much clear coat. I was told by a local detailer that you could compound as much as you want without clear coat failure, now he's actually having issues with the clear coat on his personal car. Anyway, have fun, keep up the videos and be well!

GReviewz I just purchased some as well and understand that it will take off the wax but what about paint sealant?
@GReviewz6 жыл бұрын
I think it depends how old the sealant is. Sealant in theory is more bonded to paint than wax. I know it worked well removing my old wax. I am about to upload my jet seal video. It will be the first time I apply a paint sealant to any of mt vehicles...so I cant really answer yes or no to wash plus removing the sealant. I do however feel it would remove the sealant since it does have a light polish in the wash plus.

GReviewz Obsessed Garage has an awesome video on it. First use dish soap to remove the wax, or g25024 something not PH neutral. Decon the surface. Use wax and tar remover, use Iron-X to remove contaminants, and Clay bar. Apply Collinite 845, let the wax cure and then apply Jescar Power Lock Plus. It’s a perfect combo. The Powerlock plus seals the wax and the wax protects the clear coat. If your really want a show car finish, apply Sonax Perfect Finish to make the car look better than new. You can also use Meguars D301 which I use for new cars. Sonax is a bit pricey ($80) but dam is it worth it.
@jimdavidson52086 жыл бұрын
So you list a thousand dollars in products and 74 different steps. If you are an Arab, you personally won't be doing any of this. Arabs don't do physical labor.
@evythefish216 жыл бұрын
@@Shahzad-Khan dude, never use dish soap. Sonax first, then eraser pro, then jetseal, let it cure and then colonite. If you use jetseal, it's an AIO with abrasives and it would strip the colonite. Just trying to help. Lot of work, especially if your taking off your wax with an AIO
