Thank you. I still cringe thinking of a college car wash. We had those kitchen sponges, and some of the other kids used the brillo pad side on some problem spots on the wheels and hood of a corvette. Wow! ...but I guess I need to stop using soft cotton towels as applicators. It would be great if you guys had an easy chart for aggressiveness or characteristics of your different waxing compounds. I came across this while looking for the difference between rubbing compound, polishing compound, nu finish, ultimate compound, cleaning wax, carnauba wax and hybrid ceramic prep pre-wax, with those last 4 all from Meguiar's. Sometimes more is better...but it helps to know the difference between all of them.

My 2016 truck was repainted three years ago and the paint is in great shape with no swirls but just a couple of moderate scratches and no dents (knock wood). I spent four hours washing and claying, and am breaking this into a 2-3 day project. If I use compound to buff out those scratches, do I need to compound the entire vehicle before polishing and waxing? My challenge is the small time windows provided by Colorado's hot summer weather (with unforecasted light rain bursts in the afternoon), and the fact that my truck doesn't fit in my garage. Would greatly appreciate your advice!
