I probably won’t :( It was fun to play around with but the fact that it’s more of a playground tool rather than a professional one makes it a bit wasteful to spend any more time on. (Yet obviously super impressive coming from one single developer) I’m more likely to cover C4D in the future.

sure, so Meg, can you like make a small tutorial designing something simple with voxels, like a small building, city or anything for that matter. just want to see the workflow using Majcavoxel. it doesn't have to be something complex, will progress later hopefully :)
@MegWayne5 жыл бұрын
I'm kinda showing this in the Neon City one. I don't have a specific workflow, although the world aspect to move objects around is draaaastically easier, it's the first time I build something since the release. But it's very much like going in there and just start making things. I'll think about being more progress based in the next one, if I have another project coming with MagicaVoxel.

Great video. I would love to have a "hide selected voxels" feature in MagicaVoxel as I like to model the outside of a building and then go back and do the inside (at least, this is what I would do if I was using something like 3DS Max) but, like your tip on when to texture, in MagicaVoxel you would have to delete voxels to reach the inside again. Right now I am getting around it by using CTRL-X to remove them and hoping I don't need to copy anything inside the building because I then bring the voxels back with CTRL-V :D from now on, though I am going to have to model the insides before doing the full outside of the buildings.
@MegWayne5 жыл бұрын
I know that's definitely missing. At the same time, it's one developer so I feel like it's massively amazing already. It might come out in future releases though. I guess it can be hacked by having a part of the building being a different object, so that you can move it and "so back inside". Or even better, if the building is symmetrical, only build half and duplicate rotate. #thelazycrew
@stevezpj5 жыл бұрын
@@MegWayne I agree that the developer has done an amazing job so far. Currently I am creating a load of duplicate objects on different layers, hollowing out some buildings to concentrate on the inside, leaving the outside on different objects. I'm very new to the software so a little confused by the world editor interface, though. Finding it a little fiddly but I should really just watch a load of tutorial videos rather than trying to work it all out through messing around :)
@unarei4 жыл бұрын
You can use a separate layer for interiors and then you can hide the building walls and work on the interior without risking losing the walls.

Good tips but how do you create such a big working area? How do you go beyond those 126x126x126???

Try typing in a bigger number by double clicking on it. I haven’t used MV in a year or two so it may have changed in newer versions. Hope this helps!

Hello, thanks for the tips, I want to start doing vocal art, do you recommend an iPad app for it? Thank you
@MegWayne4 жыл бұрын
I don't think there's an app for iOS/iPadOS so unless you used it as a secondary screen for a macOS device (not sure how/if it would work well though) I think it's better to stick with a computer.

@MegWayne4 жыл бұрын
I don't really have tips on that honestly, it's really trial and error :/ It's unlikely that I'll be doing more MagicaVoxel work in the future since it's not really work appropriate. So C4D is more likely. It's a great tool for illustrative work though.
