Meg, you showing your struggles to us just makes you feel like a real person we can all relate to, and I personally would never abandon someone for being more relatable! Please don't feel like you have to "be a certain way" for us. We love you as you are!! Hugs from across the pond!

Just wanted to say I literally joined your Patreon about a month ago because I like you as a person! Not because of how bubbly or “on” you are. I think you do a good job of being yourself and that’s what the right people are drawn to. I hope you give yourself some grace because we all go through peaks and valleys. ❤❤

As someone who also struggles with food extremes and anxiety, “excessive food discussions” is a trigger for me as well! My first interaction with it was the first few pages in Milkfed by Melissa Broder for a Bookclub and that was the beginning of the end for me. Stay away from things that make you feel awful, not worth finishing a book if you’re triggered by it, babe! Especially not for us! ♥️

The new Bridget Collins, the silence factory, was sooo good ! A gothic obsession story with a creepy factory, a silk making people crazy and a deeply flawed main character, plus immaculate writing style !

Meg I just wanted to comment to say don’t worry about being honest in videos about how you’re feeling (within your comfort levels of course) - firstly when you’re feeling rubbish I don’t think anyone here would want you to expend energy pretending and making yourself potentially feel worse just to entertain us - secondly sometimes the highs and lows in terms of enjoying or not enjoying what you’re reading can be entertaining too if you’re worried about that. Also please don’t be afraid to dnf a book that’s affecting your mental health like Butter seemed to. That can be equally informative for us to know - I’m glad you mentioned all the issues you had with it because now I know it’s definitely not the book for me! I hope you’re feeling a lot better, hang in there. ❤

I think if you'd allow yourself to dnf books like butter it would potentially help get you over a slump or at least not make it worse, especially if its contents made you feel bad. Imagine in that time you could have started reading your next 5 star book 🎉 I also think all your videos are fun, don't be too hard on yourself ❤ Hope you feel better soon, bad mental health is a b*! ❤

Hi Meg, I recently found your channel and I have been really enjoying it. I just wanted to say please don't feel like you need to "be" a certain way on youtube, just be you. It's so, so, so powerful to show ups and downs for your audience because it helps us feel real and valid as well, honestly seeing highlights for people all the time just has us comparing our existence to these "perfect worlds" (that are of course only perfect on camera) which contributes to an audience possibly feeling not good enough. So! Be you!!! You're fantastic! :) xx

I also give it 4 stars, it was enjoyable but took me a while to get through for the sheer amount of characters and family links I had to keep track of!😂 My fave 2024 release this year has been Just For The Summer by Abby Jimenez! I'm a horror/fantasy girlie usually but Abby Jimenez just has a hold over me I swear😅

My goal for the year has been reading new releases (and boy have there been some highs and some looooows) - my favorites have been The Invocations, The Tainted Cup, The Woods All Black, Cascade Failure, Someone You Can Build a Nest In and Service Model. Good luck with the stressful circumstances - I always try to remember if I’ve ever applied the same criticism to someone else. We often judge ourselves more harshly then others judge us.

You being honest about what you're reading is great to see, if it's a negative review that's fine too. No worries! My favorite 2024 release so far is The New Seoul Park Jelly Massacre by Cho Yeeun, a Korean literary horror novel. We all have ups and downs, please be real, much better for your mental health. I'm in a teensy reading slump because the book I'm reading, while not terrible, and while it has some interesting things about it, is still not engaging me like the book I finished last. I'm just trying to finish it now so I can pick something up I can get lost in, instead of reading like I'm a beta reader. I think part of the problem is I need a switch in genre, I'm craving "summer reading" (whatever that means) and I'm still reading "spring" books.

Man, Meg, I felt so bad for you reading "Butter"! I do not blame you at all for being angry -- 500 pages of nothing. Great description of How to Solve Your Own Murder -- I could relate to the criticisms you made of it but thankfully overall it was solidly good. So sorry to hear about Rora! I will pray for her and you all. And do not worry about how you're coming across. Your recent videos have been fun. And considering you've gone through challenging times lately I'm impressed by how cheery and upbeat you've been. And you've read some bad books lately. Don't feel bad about being honest. You're still putting out quality videos. 😊
