I’ll be having a stress test this morning as part of a diagnosis for a potential congenital heart condition. We really aren’t aware of these heart-related problems until something goes wrong to either us or a relative. I wish heart-related testing (EKG/stress test) were apart of our regular physical exams.

My Dad had a nuclear Stress test and got a clean bill of health,And 2 months died of a sudden heart attack at the age of 52 yrs old and come to find out he had some unstable plague that broke lose and formed a blood clot and entered his heart.The best test in my opinion the CIMT test that checks for soft unstable plague vs calcified stable plague.Stress test checks blood flow and nothing else.

I am now at a good cardiologist and I’m getting a stress test tomorrow morning. It’s not just women and sexism. It’s just the way the world is right now. Bless you all.

My symptoms when I had my STEMI last March was central chest pain, pain in BOTH arms, mostly the left, horrible nausea and sweating... BUT i had a stress test 2 weeks before and passed it, they missed my artery was 100 percent blocked, I ended up having to have a stent put in that one, my LCX has a 70 percent blockage that is being treated with medications, I take 80 mgs of atorvastain, 5 mgs of lisinopril, 12.5 mgs of metoprolol, 81 mgs of aspirin, 75 mgs of clopidogrel and 400 mgs of magnesium every single day and I sometimes still have chest pains at times, I think it is mostly muscle and skeletal at this point.. I have my 1 year check up on March 22nd and I am going to ask for a heart scan to see if everything is in check and that the 70 percent blockage has not gotten any worse.. I have totally changed my diet, stopped smoking and I try to exercise at least 30 minutes everyday... so yes, please, if you have a strong family history like I did, go get checked.. My dad died from a STEMI when I was only 7, he was in his mid 60's, and his first heart attack was at age 53, just like mine was.. My mom also had a massive heart attack in her 60's so I got the strong history from both sides and it finally got me... But thank God I am still here to tell my story... PLEASE go get checkd if you have a family history of heart disease, your heart will thank you... and remember, 80 percent of heart attacks can be avoided with proper medical care.. GO GET CHECKED!!!!! thank you for taking time to read my post.. Stay blessed...

I'm having a stress test done today and I'm also having a ultrasound on my heart. My EKG came abnormal. My primary doctor sent me to a cardiologist so today I'm doing a test I'm happy because if they find anything they can treat it. I'm 57 years old my primary doctor never offered me a EKG I was just curious because I've been hearing a lot of people having heart attacks so I wanted to know if my heart was okay then he suggested a EKG and that's when it was abnormal. I'm my own advocate.

How are you doing now? My dad had a nuclear stress test & within a week of the test had a stroke. Still convinced the stress test caused his stroke. Hope you’re okay.
@JC-li8kk Жыл бұрын
@@talksick508 Yes, he’s in a wheelchair now & unable to move his left arm. It all happened so fast. He went to a chiropractor, the chiropractor recommended he go to a cardiologist, the cardiologist found nothing wrong with his heart but said he had high blood pressure. He put him on blood pressure medicine then a week later did a nuclear stress test. A week after that he had a stroke. So within 2 weeks of going to the cardiologist, going on blood pressure medicine, doing a Nuclear Stress Test he has a stroke. Before that he went 71 years without a doctor visit, no medication, no tests, no symptoms of any sort.
@JC-li8kk Жыл бұрын
@@talksick508 Yea, I had a lot of questions after all this came about. I was determined to get to the bottom of it & try to raise awareness. But there is little to nothing about the dangers of a nuclear stress test. The only “risk” I’ve heard any doctors discuss is that it can give a false positive & then you end up undergoing unnecessary treatments & procedures. Nothing about the actual nuclear stress test itself being dangerous. Feels like it would be me vs the entire medical field if I were to try to bring any attention to the matter. When I found out the nuclear stress test costs $5,000-$8,000 it made a lot more sense why there is not much research or discussion about the risks. I see it as a patient with bad knees. Are you going to make that patient run 5 miles to see how bad his knees are? Or tell him to conserve his knees as much as possible? Does no good to find out the limitations of his knees if you destroy his knees in the process. I feel like my dad would have been fine as long as he didn’t over do it. But the nuclear stress test WAS him overdoing it. But again, I have no research or doctors to back up this theory.
@JC-li8kk Жыл бұрын
@@talksick508 Yea, it’s a shame how quickly one can spiral down once they go the medical route. This is why I try my best to resolve all my issues naturally. Dr Berg, Ken Berry, Jason Fung have been a huge help to me. What’s even worse is the chiropractor died from a heart attack only a few months after recommending the same cardiologist he had to my dad. But despite all this my dad still has a positive outlook & he’s still in good spirits. I’m trying to see if there’s a safe way to ween him off the blood pressure medicine & become more natural. They actually tried to get him to do the nuclear stress test again after his stroke. Thanks for hearing me out. Hopefully there are some good doctors out there who are looking into these things so we can all be more aware of the risks.
