With political discourse becoming increasingly polarised in many places around the world, good-faith debates in the public square have become increasingly rare.
So, how do you get through to, and persuade, someone on the other side of the political spectrum?
In March of this year, UpFront host Marc Lamont Hill sat down with Mehdi Hasan, host of MSNBC and Peacock’s The Mehdi Hasan Show, to talk about discourse in an increasingly polarised world; how to speak to, and convince, different audiences; and his new book, Win Every Argument.

Mehdi is yet another example of Oxford's "debate" mill. They don't necessary win arguments through intelligent debate, instead, they constantly interrupt and talk in circles until the opponent is flustered and gives up....This is a technique that's common among narcissists, it's not about the art of true persuasion, it's about silencing and humilating the opponent.

so the bottom-line Mehdi is that we should equip ourselves with leaning and speak our minds in this world whether we get to convince everyone or not should not be the goal but the goal is that everyone can speak as long as they are a bit equipped with learning, this will lead us all to a better society and maybe more loving one if we listen to each other in civil manner and respond in civil manner too given we can sometimes be right and we can also be sometimes wrong but we should avoid being too much if a cocky or a doormat for me! and democracy means ethics ( doing your best) civility, help and love!
