All I said was that we don't need more Mehdi Hassan like singing; there has been on Mehdi Hassan and that mould is broken and try not to be second best Mehdi Hassan. That is all. Be an original, one does not become great by mimicking the original. Mehdi Hassan sand when I was growing up and he was to me a hit and miss singer; many of his songs are great and others duds. I like variety of music and I am not into idolizing artists. The man sang ghazals that were awfully cloying, stupid and dumb therefore he singing did not improve upon the dumb lyrics. I am not sorry for having a keen sense for poetry, and when I hear trite and pusillanimous effeminate and worshipful lines the song fail, no matter who sings them. A cultivated taste in poetry can be problematic with the ghazals singing, the quality of ghazals vary and poor Mehdi ought to have been little more choosy, but then again he was not terribly educated. I certainly don't need any further insight into his musical acumen and singing prowess from any one and the least from a novice, like you ! Besides, you have failed to nix even a single point of argument in my narrative herein above ! To be very true, it's nothing but a very clever ploy to dodge or deviate from giving a direct response ! As a matter of fact, when someone becomes clueless, helpless, and defenseless, one behaves in this manner ! I very much pity your abysmally low level of intelligence, although you pretend to be so smart! What to do ! Frogs, living in in a well, always think the well as sea ! You might be one of it's kind ! As such, you can stoop so low ! It smacks of the total hollowness of your persona and extremely narrow vision ! I have a humble advice for you -- "Stand before a mirror, look at the image therein, and ascertain your own status first before raising an accusing finger on others !" Perhaps, conscience never lies ; provided someone has any! Therefore, better keep your unsolicited serrmons with yourself and obtain vicarious pleasure thereof with a view to satisfy your own selfish ego ! Let it be very loud and clear that although the great Mehdi Hassan Saab was not so highly educated, he was miles ahead of his contemporaries and juniors in so far as his knowledge and expertise in Hindustani Classical Music is concerned ! The great Mehdi Hassan Saab was like a TALISMAN for his contemporaries and juniors for his GOD - GIFTED qualities to instill respect, inspiration,and confidence in them ; for his fans, the great Mehdi Hassan Saab was like a DEMI - GOD for his inspirational singing attributes ! The great Mehdi Hassan Saab's illustrious career spanning over almost six decades speaks volumes about abilities as a singer of exceptional merit! What is so special about the great Mehdi Hassan Saab was the fact that he had mastered all 38+ ragas of the Hindustani Classical Music and had applied it in his divine creations through their deft handling ! In doing so, he had maintained absolute control over lafz, sur, taal, and loy, all along, and had never compromised on purity of ragas ! It goes without saying that an educated fool like you is a virtual non -- entity in front of the great Mehdi Hassan Saab's larger than life image and stature, as a musician of outstanding merit and world - wide reputation ! Therefore, the great Khan Saab hardly needs a certificate from a dud, who is hollow to the core in so far as his understanding of music is concerned ! It's totally unbecoming of a man, who professes himself to be well educated ! How stinking and disgusting an idea it looks even in thinking ! Your sheer temerity to assess the great Mehdi Hassan Saab is not only ludicrous but also thoroughly reprehensible ! Propriety demands that one should maintain the minimum dignity and decorum while describing someone of the caliber and brilliance of the great Mehdi Hassan Saab ! Last but never the least, a novice like you will have to be reborn several times over to fit into the great Mehdi Hassan Saab's shoes ! Further, as ill luck would have it for you, scores of singers like Hariharan Saab, Pervez Mehdi Saab and Raj Kumar Rizvi Saab -- to name a few -- have already emerged and have acquired the right credentials and expertise to carry forward the Glorious Legacy of the great Mehdi Hassan Saab, against your fond hope that an another Mehdi Hassan Saab shouldn't emerge ! Therefore, the legacy of the great Mehdi Hassan Saab will not end with his sad demise, as you have hoped ; but will go on for ever, like this, and your wish to the contrary will never materialize ! I really pity you ! Because, good and soulful music never ages with the passage of time and in the estimation of the discerning music lovers -- good soulful music pioneered by the likes of the great Mehdi Hassan Saab will continue to reign SUPREME forever, whether someone like you will want it or not, as it always smells as fresh as it was in the very beginning ! Therefore, who, in turn, really has wasted one's breath, is anybody's guess !
