People´s real complexion and all face lines are visible. Nobody looks non-human. Most of all, there´s no gimmickry either, with elaborate background sob stories about the contestants to get views. Just talent, respectful competition and truly qualified judges.

Mehdi Hassan sahab was a teacher (ustad) to many including Jagjit Singh who became a star of Ghazal singing in his own right. Rafi sahab was ustad to many including Mahendra Kapoor, who became a singer even Rafi sahab enjoyed, and passed many songs onto that became super hits. This era was one where people got the balance right between money, fame, and goodness.
