This video led to my battery problems being solved. I have this exact battery. My BMS was reporting very erroneous numbers no matter what I did. It was reporting the SOC at much higher than it actually was. I didn't know this OverKill app existed but I downloaded it to set the proper low-temp cutoff and when I wrote that information to the BMS it rebooted and began displaying the proper SOC. Thank you!

I appreciate the review and look inside, so thank you. Hard to believe they mis-programmed the low temp cutoff 🤦‍♂️ I guess the Bluetooth feature is pretty much as good as a shunt? If so, that's pretty cool. Also impressed that it works through the freezer lid/walls.

I built my own portable battery bank with one of these, considering getting a second one and removing the cell bundle of out of the case to fit two of these in my bank. Running a 1000 watt inverter and several power ports with a fuse box. I use it to power my electric cooler and the usual devices. I work on the road and in the hottest places in the middle of summer one battery will get me two days without power, 4 days on average, and 7 days in the cold winter.

Did you find a better printout for the charge parameters? I bought 4 and charged them separately 4 times to try and get them to "balance" out but they have pretty wild swings. 14.8 14.1 14.3 and 14.5 roughly. I have them wired in series and have been watching them closely, soon as a load hits them they all level out to ~13.4 and start going down from there. I have it hooked to a Renogy 48v 3500w inverter charger.

No. Did you put them all in parallel and charge them until the charger shuts down (full) then let them set in parallel a day. That gives them a chance to all even out. Then series them. That is how I do mine. They do make a battery balancer that may help.

@@kevincrawford2027 I didn't, I charged them individually and topped them off a few times. I did just use the overkill to fix low temp charge like you did. It had cells cut off set to 3.75v, so I adjusted it to 3.65 too

I don't think 7awg cable can handle 100A, right? How can it have 7awg cable?

That's what I thought too but I seemed to do ok and didn't get hot. I guess the silicone high temp wire with very fine strands can safely handle more current. I did like the fact that the over current protection worked quickly at 110 amps.

@@kevincrawford2027 that's good. I have seen other batteries with 8awg so I guess this one is better than the others. I plan to power my room with one of these and I might use high power, 800w or something so cable tickness is something I worry about.

Hard to say. The Chinns have been around longer and have prismatic cells. My Chinns are over two years old and are used every day and work great. They don't have low temp protection or Bluetooth like the Mehrpow. Depends on your priorities.
