Is there any advantage to buying just this for BMPCC4K (M4/3) or buying a similar Meike lens + speed booster? like in terms of image quality. thanks. Debating between the Meike 16mm for M4/3 or Meike 35mm
@StephenBell_video3 жыл бұрын
Speed boosters are handy, but for any high feature filming, I would suggest shooting native, and these lens are perfect for the BMPCC 4K, once again these lens are PERFECT for that system. And the price point is golden, and you don’t need to worry about speedboosters

Interesting friend, when you adjust the focus on these lenses, for long or short depth of field, are you also fiddling with the diaphragm at the same time? I mean, is it darkening or lightening the image at the same time, or is the diaphragm separate at the bottom of the camera, giving you separate control for each thing, could you talk more about that?

As these are manual cine lenses without inbody IS you might notice a bit of shake even if the camera body has I. The meike ficus gears are usually pretty smooth- do you have anything caught in it? You might be able to adjust the tension a bit that way

Have you considered the GH5s for your Low Light gigs?
@StephenBell_video4 жыл бұрын
I didn’t try the Gh5s as I heard it wasn’t too far different from the g9. How do you find it in low light?
@colinthecameraguy4 жыл бұрын
@@StephenBell_video ooh no it's a completely different beast from the G9 , with half the pixels and an oversized sensor and duel native ISO (400 & 2500) it's more video based than even the GH5 and way better in low light . Of the three it's the definite video camera whereas the G9 is the photos camera (that can do video) and the GH5 is the true hybrid. The only criticism of the GH5s is that it doesn't have IBIS . . . But neither does the ZCam
@StephenBell_video4 жыл бұрын
@@colinthecameraguy I forgot it had dual native ISO! Very nice, for my workflow I use the G9 as my vlog go to and the Zcam for projects and work. 6k and pro res are key on the Zcam, not 100% necessary but definitely a bonus! The g9 is a grand camera as the firmware essentially made it a gh5, minus shooting modes and anamorphic support. Would love to do a review of the Gh5s!

I Have the 4K camera and as a photographer use Olympus. I have recently bought Meike lenses for it 16 and 35mm T2.2. I have also been using the MagicCinema app to preview shots. I am getting all sorts of conflicting focal lengths. I assume AND expect the Olympus camera and glass to give correct focal lengths (EM1 and the 12-40 pro lens is my test lens). The 16mm comes up closer to 20mm in the app and compared to OM1 more like 14mm! The 35mm is close to 40mm on the app and 32mm compared to OM1. I assume the app is way off but I suspect the Meike suggested FL is way off as well. Does anybody have similar experiences or know of some place that gives definitive results? Also is there an app that is more accurate?
@StephenBell_video2 жыл бұрын
I am not familiar with Olympus cameras per say, but I would say, that most M4/3 cameras like the olympus do tend to exhibit crop ratios depending on focal length. In M4/3 I always say double the focal length for a true result 25 becomes 50, and on super 35 I usually multiple by 1.35X so generally 25mm becomes a 33-35mm etc.
@LeeHarris2 жыл бұрын
@@StephenBell_video Hi I have since found out that BM 4k is a 1.9x crop hence the disparity, normal M4/3 is 2 x crop
