Bought one for my FZ300 directly from the manufacturer based on your review. Very happy with it. Battery life not great with just the two AA batteries, but then it's lighter and more compact so it's a good compromise.

+Greg Hill ...Greg, is the flash still working okay for you? I find that these 2 AA Battery Flash units, drop down to 2/3 bars of power, and then they quickly drop down to 1/3 bar. This happens, regardless of battery type. They still have power, but they take 6-10 seconds to recycle. I often see these flash units advertised with several different names, and their stock photos are also showing only 1 or 2 bars of power. Any input will be appreciated.

Hi Joe. I've given up using rechargeable batteries as they have a very short life. I'm getting reasonable life from store-brand (Aldi) alkaline batteries during a photo session with quick recycle time, but they seem to lose power in the flash unit when not being used. I haven't tried premium batteries - I just keep a supply of fresh store-brand batteries on hand. Overall I'm still happy with price/performance. I couldn't afford or justify a more expensive flash for the amount of times I need one. The typical thing I need a flash for are family photos of special events such as Christmas, birthdays and the like. I might take 10 flash shots, max 20 in a session. Cheers, Greg.

Hi there, Interestingly i got the MK320p over a year ago when it very first came out in March 2015 for my FZ1000. Being a very early production run, it appeared to not have full compatibility, due to initial bugs. Specifically it would not fire correctly on the FZ1000 (no pre-flash, thus it would fire at 100% power and blow out the image).. Although the aperture did adjust. After having the flash languish in a drawer for nearly a year, after reading recent reviews saying it DOES work fully with the FZ1000. I got in touch with Meike & they very kindly did a warranty swap directly from China. Observations over the older one to the new one they sent me. 1) It WORKED! :-D .... firing pre-flash on my FZ1000 and now producing beautifully exposed images. 2) The buttons are now coloured like yours (with red ink on the power and the other buttons having white ink inlayed.). Previously all the buttons were black. 3) The fresnel lens is now temperature corrected and tinted yellow (matching the FZ1000 built in flash), whereas the original one was white. Question, Why would they have tinted the fresnel? Might the the flash head have been over powered with a white lens, thus they had to 'cool' the temperature a bit so as to give warmer, less 'blue' looking images? It's clearly a design refinement. Perhaps you could give an explanation as to why some flash heads are white & others are yellow tinted? Many thanks..

I needed to buy a flashgun in a hurry for use at a wedding. This review gave the necessary reassurance that the MK320 will work in TTL mode with my G6/G7, also have FZ330. Flashgun arrived this morning and initial testing with G6/G7 went fine, once I'd figured out that being in Silent Mode was preventing the Flash mode switching on - doh ;-)

+Graham Houghton ...Hi Graham, I was quite dissapointed with the MK-300 because it's so well built, finished to perfection, and even feels like a High Quality Flash unit, but it doesn't put out consistent power. (yes, the price is extremely low, but I wouldn't complain about a higher price, if it worked well) The 320 model does work better, but like you said, not with the LX 7 or FZ200 in TTL Mode. It also has the feel, fit and finish of a quality Flash unit. After buying a few of these smaller units, I ended up getting the Panasonic DMW-FL360 for the LX7, and the DMW-FL360L for the FZ200 and LX100. For my Fujifilm X Cameras, I bought the Nissin i40 so I finally have full function for my compact cameras. It's strange how the two Panasonic (Sunpak?) Flash units are so similar in size, but the FL360 takes 2 AA's, and the FL360L takes 4 AA's. Btw, the reason that I avoided the Panasonic Flash Units for so long, was their Plastic Base, and Hot Shoe units. It's very common to see the Hot Shoes snapped off! Thank You for the Fantastic Videos Graham! ... JP

Good review. I have one question, the function HSS of this flash for M4/3 work? I have a GX8 and for exterior session on sunny day, the 1/200 sync is very short and the official flash with that feature cost as much as a monolight.

While this is a small flash for small cameras such as Sony and Fugi mirrorless, it is not strong enough for bouncing off the wall behind.

Yes the 320 will work in TTL mode. The earlier 300 will not work in ttl mode - it just fires at full power.

oops.....its GN 32 vs GN 38....what does that mean and which is better for OM 10
@GrahamHoughton125 жыл бұрын
The GN is short for Guide Number and expresses the power of each flash unit in metres for a set ISO (usually 100) . So for the GN32 at 3 metres flash to subject distance the aperture setting would be around F9 . In terms of which then I would suggest looking at the more advanced Godox 350o as it is capable of much more. If you prefer the smaller form factor then the MK320P would be my choice.
@pjcardone1645 жыл бұрын
@@GrahamHoughton12, thank you. The reason I was asking is because I own a TT560 SPEEDLITE, however it is manual setting. I thot the TTL type might be better....and easier. This TT560 is a CN 38 which I'm guess certainly has enough power, just not TTL. Compared to the MK 320P, what do you think? The Godox is a tad pricier than I wanted to go. Thanks again for your informative videos.
