By far the most substantial review I have seen about Liu Bao Cha coming from our western enthusiasts... Research from Don is spot on and shows that he is truly knowledgeable about the tea's history and appreciation. He also accurately describes the experience of having the tea, especially putting more emphasis on the senses above simply the taste, and its effects on the body, which is what vintage Liu Bao is most valued for.

Hey Celine, if you find that your current grip is scorching your fingers too often, try the burger/stack grip with the thumb on top and saucer underneath. I know Don’s not a fan, but it’s my go to grip as I suffer from dupuytrens and the Meileaf gaiwans are very stable. I have never scorched the palm of my hand using this grip.

I always loved tea (mostly Japanese greens) but since I found MeiLeaf (completely by accident) I have learnt so much more about tea and opened my mind to types of tea which I never really considered before (like PuErh and Oolong). Thank you so much Celine and Don for your amazing videos - your enthusiasm and love for tea is amazing and makes me want to learn more - and of course enjoy more of the good stuff. Hopefully there will be no problems with tax next year when the UK-EU "special" customs treatment will be finished. Anyway - keep on with your spirit and let us enjoy the beauty of good tea - especially now during these dark days... Hugs&Kisses

I recently tasted a 2008 Liu Bao and it was really good. The Liu Bao 1988 must really be amazing. I put it on my list.

You two are so funny. Did we just watch you get tea drunk? Now, I was aghast at the dumping of the first cleaning brew. In a tea aged like this, the first brew must have contained that first few aromatic notes. The aged cheese. You threw it away! Oh, noooo.

Hi Don! Just letting you know that in your ‘about’ section, you have spelt ‘post-fermented’ as ‘prost-fermented’.

@@wanderingdoc5075 Any time is tea time for sure but my income has been affected by these darn lockdowns so I can't just splurge. I accept donations, hint hint. Are you a doner? Some humor...

@@reubenk1615 I've been there man. You'll come back stronger. I've been stationed in Korea, haven't ordered any tea from them. Even though I have a U.S. APO Box here. Any tea recommendations from them? The teas I drink most are senchas that taste peaty and grassy, and matcha. Sometimes pu-erh.

Don, how do I avoid getting leaf everywhere during a gong fu session, if the picking is very fine and small leaves?
@DrinkWater7133 жыл бұрын
Pour a little bit slower, making the opening between the cup and lid of the gaiwan smaller. Also, use a strainer. I personally don't like using a strainer; what I do is that I pour the tea into a gong dao bei, so, if any leaf comes along it doesn't go directly into the cup and can be easily discarded.

The 70’s worked better with a western style brew rather than Gong Fu for me. It was a little bland in small doses, but beautiful in a larger longer brew.
@tangalooma72573 жыл бұрын
Though I don’t think I’ll be purchasing any more. It’s not worth the £70 price tag. I’ll stick with the gorgeous milk float and fig dipper. Much preferred.
