So sick! Been drumming since I was 7. So 30 years. And I simply don't understand the swivel or the heel toe.

Thank you! I haven't spent enough time working on heel toe to be able to explain it well, I don't really do doubles with my feet unless there's a weird grouping and I need to make sure I come into the next section leading with my right foot. But I figured out how to do swivels by watching videos of Ken Bedene from Aborted back in the day, if you're interested I'd try to find videos of people playing them and try to get your feet to move the same way (slowly, over long periods of time, and as you develop the muscle memory it will gradually help you get faster). It also helps practicing with each foot individually, then together.

Not Cymbal related, but I would love to hear about how the bass drum is being tuned/muffled to accommodate the roland trigger so well

So I think most people stuff their kicks completely full with pillows/muffling for their triggers, but I have three pillows in my kick. It's not completely full, but it's pretty close. I have my batter head tuned pretty tight, push the pillows all the way up to the batter head, and my reso head is tight too but not quite as tight as my batter, and that's worked well for me for years now.
