It never ceases to amaze me how these incredible musicians suddenly emerge from the woodwork without my ever having heard of them. I must be living in a cave.

Yet again a perfect example of how these cymbals transcend through many styles of music/drummers. I'm actually getting ready to record in the coming weeks and I wish I had the sonic beauty that these cymbals bring to the table. Only in a perfect world.

Masterful drumming. I still lays down the groove but provides that extra "umph" without being too technical to where its presumptuous.

this was so nice love the grove, the kit, the tones, everything sounds great most jazz kits I tend to hear sound terrible usually in toms but this was so good so good, that I slowed it down to really watch the hand technique makes me really want to go back and Study Jazz and Funk Drumming now that Rock and metal are kinda second nature to me

I like the way Trad Grip looks but I don't have anywhere near as much power as match grip. I use Trad when I want to play softer. Plus i've seen some drummers like Thomas Lang for example only play Trad then switch to match exclusively. There must be a reason. Steve White uses Trad Grip but has said that Match is "the best grip to play rock drums"...

Meinl... please close-mic the rides and then gate and compress. It will be so much better then.
@rhysgraham17164 жыл бұрын
lol, this guy is playing jazz fusion not prog metal, I reckon Meinl's engineers know what they're doing
@johnnyperki62674 жыл бұрын
I'm sure they know 100% what they are doing as well man, and they make astounding mixes. The thing is, people that are interested in hearing rides like the vintage pures or the lights in a full band mix miss so much of their absolutely amazing nuance and character, cause these are pretty quiet compared to other cymbals. For example, Matt Garstka's engineer close-mics the vintage pure light in both fusion and prog contexts. It sounds absolutely phenomenal and you can hear the cymbal's character to the fullest. I can't stress this enough, this is a great mix, but the Vintage Pure has much more to offer than what we can hear here.
