Meir, I am impressed by your insight! Thank you so much. Here in the UK, there is a lot of deep poverty (30% of the population, roughly) and increasing homelessness. The main attitude here only teaches people one thing, namely how to remain poor and powerless. It's pervasive and paralysing. Also, whatever resulted in the homelessness - usually lack of income - isn't fixed by putting the person in a different home, and the majority of people overlook that completely, including friends, family and colleagues. I learned that the hard way. See, I have been homeless. I am a Dutch migrant in the UK, self-employed. My income suddenly tanked sharply and I could no longer keep up with the rent, so at age 50, I was out on the streets for a very short while.
