Mejlis of Crimean Tatar People

June 30th is considered to be the founding date of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people.
On this day in 1991, at the first session of the Kurultay of the Crimean Tatars under Soviet rule, the national Meijlis Assembly.
Back then, the Crimean Tatars approved their anthem, their flag, and elected Mustafa DzhemiIlev as head of the representative body.
