That house on the river will have some very nice views. Not to sure about the bamboo replacing rebar, but what do I know... Thanks for sharing.

... loved the progression of the Mekong River House ... really looking nice. Thanks for sharing where the cattle will be brought to. The cow shed is just about ready now that the concrete is finished. Don't know much about stabilizers, but I'm sure you'll figure it out. Another day closer to getting the cows. Have a great day!

I'll definitely keep an eye on the progress. The mother and son are super folks.

Graham have thought about using a mono-pod?
@gbriar7 жыл бұрын
On the tripod I can detach on leg for a mono-pod but as yet I've never used it ... maybe I should give it a go as a lot of folks say it's really useful.

My son and I are headed across the boarder into Tecate Mexico and will be building homes for people who work in the San Diego area. Average price of a home here 500K +. My wife and I have 2 homes in Malaysia and my son will be moving there and building homes. I get ideas for that when you show homes there. Thank you.

position - position - position , the three fundamental for good real estate . That house on the Mekong has all three .The Gimbal is a great idea BUT it would need to be setup for the specific camera . Bamboo as reo. ? Hmmmm ..... dunno about that . I'd be very interested to see how it performs over the life of the concrete . I will have to add that to my book " 101 Uses for Bamboo" .Thanks again for sharing .

Yes great location. I'll let you know how the concrete floor performs with the bamboo rebar :)

I actually thought of you. I suspect the monthly rent would be about 4,000 baht. Not bad for such a few and the home really is a peach. It's freezing here!

Graham & Pie I wonder why not? Seems to me a much better life style than working the 9-5 grind here in the UK. I'm married to a thai women and we both live in the UK but she really wants us to move to her village in isaan. Id love to but unfortunately I don't know how id make a living out there. The way things are in the UK I think one of these days I'm gonna say stuff it, pack our bags and go lol.

I bought one of those types of stabilizers for my former SJCAM camera and couldn't get it balanced at all. I'll be interested to see if you succeed. All about getting the set up counterbalanced which seems nigh on impossible with mine.
@MrEye4get7 жыл бұрын
I purchased a Zhiyun Smooth-Q (~4,500 THB) with an adapter plate (~550 THB) to use with my SJCAM 4K Action Camera. It works very well and is quite affordable.
@TutoneEarthling7 жыл бұрын
MrEye, did you order those or buy in a shop in Thailand? I'd be interested in your set up but don't see it in USA.
@gbriar7 жыл бұрын
Can't beat a motorized gimbal like the one I have for the GoPro. Might be better off with one of those and it's much lighter.
@TutoneEarthling7 жыл бұрын
Graham, i agree about the motorized gimbal. I bought one that was suppose to fit an SJ Cam but it didn't. I have a go pro also so i can still use it. However, i would rather use the SJ. I also have one of those non motorized stabalizers like you now have but could never get it set right for a Canon GX7. and, you have a big lense to deal with.

I did find that a smaller lens really helped; got to tweak it some more. Just saw the new review on the DJI Ronin - fantastic bit of kit but I should imagine it'll be quite expensive.

The government used bamboo reenforcement on the road in front of my house south of Chiang Rai. It seems to be holding up pretty good, considering how much dump truck traffic goes through there.

All you need to know about the stabilizer can be found at kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppy9hoBtisqjrrM Use a fixed or prime lens. You don't need to use all the weights. The stabilizer should weight about the same as your camera. The handle should move freely, but not random. After about 30 minutes, I had mine working with a Sony a6000 mirrorless camera and 50mm prime lens. I only need one weight disk, to the added weight is manageable.
