She was a very private person and rarely did interviews. Even when she did interviews, they were always about the movie she was promoting or about her being married to Mel. She wouldn't be so open about her personal life until their son Max left for college, I think? At least that's what I read in her biography

Me too they always looked happy together and in this interview Mel kept making Anne laugh, and Mel and Anne flirted with each other through the whole interview and they just look great together they enjoy each other's company, that's true love.

After watching this, I bet he's not like this in everyday real life. You couldn't live with the constant craziness. He's funny, but too frenetic to take on a regular basis. In my imagination, they're living a much more calm, low key life everyday. It's only when he's performing, he's crazy and all over the place, and needs to be the center of attention.

I just learned, from a different video, that Mel Brooks' father died when his older brother was barely 16. So he got dealt a heavy blow early on... Maybe that's where the frenetic-ness comes from.... (Oh yeah, and then there's the war thing. Those are two brutal things...)

Separate the public persona from the private person. Watched Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft on a number of TV shows and interviews and they always enjoyed themselves together . Sad that Anne Bancroft died of uterine cancer in 2005 after over 40 years of marriage .Mel's still living at the ripe old age of 95

There are individuals in this world and they’re are ones who care about others - Mel didn’t and whom ever he or she was who was interviewing seemed to not know at all . They cared for an early conglomerate, that makes no sense to us . Mel was an individual who’s truth no one could touch.

I was actually surprised how much they understood and got - especially since it was all english. Although his films had been already famous at the time in France or Germany for example, it still wouldn't have been possible to do this interview in these countries.
